4 days late.. but..
In case ya'll don't know, Chris and I are officially engaged as of Saturday March 1.
and it was amusing.. let me tell you.
So I've got some relatives visiting right now, cousins of some sort Lenny and his wife Shelly, and their son Brad (Lenny is a few years older than my mom). They're awesome people, and Lenny is one of those people with PERSONALITY.. yeah, i think Caps covers it. He's awesome, full of stories of his life, and family past.. it's cool. But.... dinner Saturday. I'm not sure entirely how it came about, but I think it was because Lenny doesn't want to have the family reunion in August in Canada. So he was saying Chris and I should get married in August and but a kibosh on the whole family reunion thing. And that turned into actually getting us engaged. There was much embarrassment. you know you want to, well since it's a forgone conclusion anyways you might as well, you know you like this family, what's stopping you?? etc. this is going on for probably 2 hours. In response to "there's no ring" my mom goes and gets my great grandfather's diamond tie-tack. So that's going to be made into a ring for me. :D But it finally came down to Lenny writing out a marriage proposal, which Chris still wouldn't say out loud, but he signed it, and then i signed the agreed line.. and yeah. (i think that's getting framed).
But yeah, we called it official. Now comes the part I never envisioned doing.. actually planning a wedding. I was so willing to go sign papers at the courthouse or something, but my grandmother would have a fit.. and ..well it could be fun? right? besides, i already have a dress in mind (GAH the girly is taking over!)
