Hey-lo, I have decided to use this journal as sort of a place to type up stories that come to my mind, hee hee. So I need to continue the one from last time...
Fighting the growing panic and overpowering urge to run, my mind was hardpressed to find a way out of the certain death I was now faced with. As thoughts wildly spun through my head, the words inscribed on the amulet seemed to be the only coherent of them all. In an instant I understood that the "silverglass" was the moon. So it was the moon that called out this terrible creature, indeed the moon was near full and high in the sky. But what were the "words of Lothenia" and who was the "emerald mage". Then something occured to me, I looked down at medalion in my hand, could it be the emerald mage? That thought was immediately interrupted by an odd noise emerging from the creature. I looked up at its snarling fangs. It was an angry growl but with a hint of ... fear? Yes, the creature seemed to be fearful of the madalion. Before I could react on this new found tactict the creature atacked. I was pushed to the ground the medalion thrown from my hand. The creature was over me preparing to take my head off. Fear turned to adrenalin as I shoved the creature off of me. I flipped over onto my stomache and on my hands and feet crawled as fast as I could toward the medalion where it had fallen a few yards away. It was nearly in my grasp when the creature lunged onto my back, its weight forcing all the air out of my lungs. For a moment I lay motionless, shocked by the sudden attack. Returning to my senses as its claws dug deep into my back. I tried to throw it off me, but it pinned me to the ground with superhuman strength and the pain was too great. Then it dipped its head to sniff at my sholder. For a moment it let up its force and I thought that it would let me go or at least give me an oportunity to reach the amulet, but as I shifted to extend my arm it jerked its head and in an instant had sunk its teeth into the flesh and tendon at the base of my neck. I let out an agonizing scream as the blood poured from my severed artery. I lay on the cold stone of the street feeling the creature dig its fangs deeper into my shoulder. My scream must have been heard by someone near by because I heard voices trying to find the source of the scream, me. I tried to call out to them but the pain was too much and the weight of the creature made it hard to breath. I was becoming weaker as the voices came closer. The creature heard the voices and was startled into letting go of me. Thinking me dead or too maimed to move the creature retracted its claws ripping the flesh from my back and turned to face the newcomers. I saw to figures turn a corner to face us, the creature, snarling and me, dying. One of them screamed and the creature made to attack them. I took its distraction to my advatage and with what little strength I had, I reached forward hoping the medalion still wasn't too far. It wasn't. My fingers closed around its edges just as the creature realised what I was doing. It turned, rage in its eyes, ready to finish what it had started, but I was ready for it. I thrust the medalion in front of me, the moonlight reflecting of the emerald's surface mirrored in the creatures eyes as the rage turned to fear. It scrambled back wards, now no more than a fearful hound as it ran into the bushes and overgrowth from whence it came. I had only a second before my head lightened and my visioned blurred. I knew I fell to the ground, the medalion still clutched in my hand, but all I felt was the numbing cold and the blackness encroaching upon me as the two figures ran towards me. They looked down at me, speaking worriedly and urgently, but I didn't hear them as everything went black ...
Sorry all, but I hafta go now. I'll continue this story later.
Just as a quick yell "Thais and Alix have great fun abroad and bring back lots of photos!"
