jydog1 , our word of the week is curtain. Write a 100 word story using the word curtain, and post it in the comments. (New authors are welcome! See previous weeks if you're looking for examples.)
Imaginary bonus points if you have someone laugh during the story.
Go!
v1
From down the hallway I could hear the giggling hours after their supposed bedtime. I crept up to the door and peered in. The bunk bed was curtained with blankets and the warm glow of a flashlight bloomed from within. Illuminated silhouettes crouched forward in horror inducing poses as scraps of scary stories half remembered floated out to my ears, replete with zombies, werewolves, and headless horsemen. They took turns trying to scare each other silly, bursting into hesitant laughter to chase the goosebumps away. I savored these moments of harmony; no bedtime rule was more important than this bonding.

Thump, thump, thump, I went on the floor. The ensuing screams were delightful.
(Two stories for the price of one. I couldn't decide which to go with.)
