Stolen from _crimsonearth . Essentially, 30 questions about video games, but I'm not going to keep to the "one a day" thing, as I don't really care.
Day 01 - Your first video game.
Super Mario Bros. for the NES. Played it every weekday for two years between the ages of 5 and 7.
Day 02 - Your favourite character.
The Nameless One.
Day 03 - A game that is underrated.
A specific game? Abe's Oddysey.
Day 04 - Your guilty pleasure game.
Can't think of anything. I play the games I like, it's as simple as that.
Day 05 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were).
Feel that I am most like? Can't really think of any.
Wish I were like? Dante from Devil May Cry.
Day 06 - Most annoying character.
Rikku (Final Fantasy X)
Day 07 - Favourite game couple.
Ico and Yorda
Day 08 - Best soundtrack.
I could put a Final Fantasy game here...however, what I like best about Nobuo Uematsu's music is a) The Black Mages and b) the piano albums.
I could put the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack here, but while the soundtrack is good and adds perfectly to the atmosphere, it would mainly be for this hauntingly beautiful song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKPSl6YS-UI
So...The Mega Man games all more or less has perfectly fitting soundtracks, so I could say Mega Man 2 or 3 here...and yet, I'm not sure. The answer is simply one of the above, if not all of them.
Day 09 - Saddest game scene.
The ending to Disgaea.
Day 10 - Best game play.
Devil May Cry.
Day 11 - Gaming system of choice.
PSX/PS2.
Day 12 - A game everyone should play.
A game everyone should play, I have many suggestions for, but sadly, most people wouldn't actually play Planescape: Torment.
However, I think everyone should also play
Day 13 - A game you've played more than five times.
Metal Gear Solid. (Probably completed it twenty times, if not more.)
Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper.
I would imagine it was one based on Resident Evil in some fashion, but I don't currently have one. It's either Resident Evil, or Fallout.
Day 15 - Post a screen shot from the game you're playing right now.
Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes.
Metal Gear Solid and StarCraft II will have to vye for that position, although Final Fantasy VII - X (especially the opening to FFVIII), Diablo II and Resident Evil 2 had some pretty good ones too.
Day 17 - Favourite antagonist.
Luca Blight (Suikoden II), I love because of his uncompromising attitude, and the quote "Fear is a stupid emotion."
Honourable mention: Kefka (Final Fantasy VI). As compared to pretty-boy Sephiroth, he manages to accomplish his goals of destroying the world and become a god, and personified cackling insane evil. When the heroes arrayed against him tell him why they're opposing him (love, friendship and other such things) his response is "This is sickening... You sound like chapters from a self-help booklet!"
Day 18 - Favourite protagonist.
This is a lot tougher. Do I go with Solid Snake, for being the epitome of the badass, or Dante for mostly being the same? If it was only those two, then Snake would win. Mega Man, though, you ask? What about the Blue Bomber, who is relentless in his pursuit for justice and bringing the villains down? The Nameless One, and all that he is? April Ryan, for doing what is right, no matter how much she might lack faith in her abilities? Jade's similar attitude, when she has to battle invaders, expose a conspiracy and save the children?
There's simply too many to choose one.
Honourable mention - Kyle Katarn. If nothing else, then for the following exchange. Luke Skywalker: "I sense a disturbance in the Force." Kyle Katarn: "You always do, Luke."
Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.
No more pictures. However...setting I personally would want to live in? Planescape?
Day 20 - Favourite genre.
RPG, I guess. Second place action (Devil May Cry, Metal Gear S/2D platformers (Mega Man, Super Mario Bros., Castlevania)
Day 21 - Game with the best story.
Planescape: Torment.
Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you.
Devil May Cry 2.
Day 23 - Game you think had the best graphics or art style.
Okami. Not sure about 'best', but it was certainly awesome.
Day 24 - Favourite classic game.
Define 'classic'.
I guess the answer will have to be some variant of Super Mario Bros 3
Day 25 - A game you plan on playing.
Shadow of the Colossus, Thief & Thief II, Fahrenheit. (Have had them lying around for a few years, just never sat down and played them.)
Day 26 - Best voice acting.
David Hayden as Solid Snake.
Otherwise, I think the entire crew of voice actors on StarCraft and its sequel do a damned good job.
Day 27 - Most epic scene ever.
I think the God of War series has a few of those, including the fight against Zeus himself, how you claw your way out of hell (once in the first game, after Ares kills you, then in the second game, when Zeus de-deifies you and throws you down into hell), or the fight against the Sisters of Fate, when you know you're doomed even if you win...The entire series goes from epic moment to epic moment, really...hard to narrow it down.
So, as I cannot, I guess I might have to choose another...The actions leading up to, taking place during, and happening after you defeat the final boss of Okami.
Day 28 - Favourite game developer.
Clover/Capcom, Konami, Black Isle Studios...Once upon a time, Squaresoft would also have been on that list.
Day 29 - A game you thought you wouldn't like, but ended up loving.
Suikoden.
Day 30 - Your favourite game of all time.
That...is a really tough choice.
I think...Planescape: Torment will continue to hold that spot for a while longer, but there are many that are tied for second. (Not Tetris, though. It's just an addiction.)
