Winding down, but gearing up

Man -- school almost over and I sure will be thankful for it. I know it's important, but I'll be damned if I don't really dislike school these days. Only one more year, though...and summer will be a nice break. I expect that once I graduate, I'll miss these troublesome days.

Speaking of summer, though -- I think mine will be awesome. I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to have enough money, but I figure I'll do what I have to and make things work. I'll be taking off to Thailand and Japan again with ST right after school. I love my taiko peeps, and scooting off to exotic places and playing with them is simply scrumptious. After we get back, I'll be in Oregon for about a month studying taiko with the Artistic Staff at Portland Taiko. It's more or less the first step in making my dream come true -- which makes me nervous, but also gives me shivers of excitement.

Yeah...you did catch that subtle point, I guess. If you don't know already, I'm gonna play taiko. Professionally.

Even if I don't make it, I have to try. I've passed up too many opportunities in my life already, and I've got mountainous regret for all of those things. Not gonna do it again, though. For better or for worse, I'll give it my best and, as Vadim says, "We will see what happens."

'Sides...engineering ain't bad for a fallback, eh?
