[ Signius pulled himself away from staring out over the landscape once the announcement was made, frowning slightly. He shouldn't have been surprised that there was a Kafra representative on the ship, nor should he be surprised that she was the one taking charge of some of these things. But even so, he seemed to be a little offput by it.
Against his better judgment, he made his way over towards the storage area. On one hand, he was a trained knight and had already seen such things before. On the other, he should probably at least become familiar with the Kafra representative, as they could be extremely helpful when things were needed. ]
[ He'd decided it was worth making an effort to draw some of his old self back to the front; at least for now people might not think of him as some broody war veteran. He bowed slightly to the Kafra woman, a gesture of respect. ]
Good morning. Do not worry, Miss... I am an old, trained man by now. I just felt that perhaps it would be worth it to introduce myself to you if we are to be... working together.
[ He still didn't like the way that those words sounded or formed in his mouth. Even so, it was not Khepri's fault he was here so there was no reason to take it out on her. ]
Well you definitely look trained, one of the swordsman classes, right? I wouldn't call you old though; you look like you've got a few more good years on you.
I never say no to cute company. And hey hey, shouldn't it be the other way around? You're the one who has to deal with living in our world for a while.
Unless you mean to say someone else beat me to the life-altering world explanation.
[ Khepri herself is all smiles, in part because being stuck as a ship kafra wasn't quite as exciting as she'd hoped it would be. ]
The ability to travel! See new sights, hear new sounds, all that exciting stuff. Thought mostly it was my brothers who gave me the idea; they're a part of the Cool Corps now and a good rivalry's always fun between siblings.
[ At that Khepri waved a hand, as if dismissing the very suggestion. ]
A knight may do what he's told to do, but as a man you've got your own brain, right? And while training to be a knight, didn't you learn all of those knightly commandments? If you ask me, upholding the honor of a knight seems a lot more important than being kept as someone's knight.

Good morning! Are you here for general Kafra services or Classes 101? Or both, I've got time.

I was a knight in His Majesty's service years ago, before the war.
[ He paused for a moment. Oh, right. ]
Right, right. You didn't have that war. Mm. Yes, you could say that I have a few years under my belt.
[ He's not even pushing 30 just yet. ]

[ With a light pat of her apron, Khepri began moving around Signius, circling the other man like a shark as she studied him. ]
Well war experience is definitely not the only thing you've got going for you. And one of the King's knights too? Now color me intrigued.

[ He didn't seem to even notice her circling him like a vicious predator she was. He mulled over his thoughts while she did. ]
Intrigued? If you do not mind me waiting to see who else arrives, I will answer any questions you have to the best of my ability.

[ He was arching a brow at her though, slightly amused by her demeanor. ]
What made you decide to work for Kafra?

Personal interest's hardly a noble reason. Besides, you're a knight. Aren't you all about the noble stuff?

[ If by "retired" he meant "was impaled on someone's sword" then he sure was telling the truth. ]
Besides, a knight does what he's commanded to do. It'snot always just and noble, but it's your job.
