[People staring at the sky while wearing aprons are usually unseen. Which means it's time for Izaya to prod around a bit. He'll approach, looking fairly friendly. And harmless.]

I think you've got a while if you're waiting for it to be fully cooked.

[ Shut up, Izaya, people can do what they want like stand in the middle of the sea in an apron and a hairnet while singing the titanic theme. ]

Probably about half an hour now or so. I should have the patience of a saint after all the cooking I've done. [ fail, fail, try again and succeed; repeat until you have mastered said recipe. ]

I can't really say I would expect someone to just mosey on over here and start a conversation because I'm wearing an apron. [ it's the apron, right, that's why the pick-up line was about food. ]

It's nice to see someone who agrees! Really, people can be so defensive needlessly.

[He shrugs though. It's not as if he's really particularly bothered by it.] I reminded that Violet City isn't nearly as interesting as it could be. I suppose that's what so many months of being away from it can do.
