[People staring at the sky while wearing aprons are usually unseen. Which means it's time for Izaya to prod around a bit. He'll approach, looking fairly friendly. And harmless.]

I think you've got a while if you're waiting for it to be fully cooked.

[ Shut up, Izaya, people can do what they want like stand in the middle of the sea in an apron and a hairnet while singing the titanic theme. ]

Probably about half an hour now or so. I should have the patience of a saint after all the cooking I've done. [ fail, fail, try again and succeed; repeat until you have mastered said recipe. ]

[Sure they can. Izaya can still make fun of them.]

It sounds like it keeps you rather busy. You must enjoy it, hm?

[ He shrugs. ]

I don't enjoy it enough to be an Iron Chef if that's what you're asking.

In any case, most don't usually leave the kitchen with their aprons on.

Guess I'm not in that most category then. I mean, if I take it off, I'm just going to have to go back and put it back on.

Might as well leave it on. [ Lazy. ]

[Chuckles a little.] Well, there's never anything wrong with that. At the very least, there's good reason for it.

Glad you can see it my way. So what's your story?

I can't really say I would expect someone to just mosey on over here and start a conversation because I'm wearing an apron. [ it's the apron, right, that's why the pick-up line was about food. ]

[Something about justice and sexuality, actually... wait, what.]

I'm not most people! I don't see anything wrong with approaching a friendly conversation.

[ I'm okay with this. ] There's nothing wrong with that.

So how do you do, friendly stranger?

It's nice to see someone who agrees! Really, people can be so defensive needlessly.

[He shrugs though. It's not as if he's really particularly bothered by it.] I reminded that Violet City isn't nearly as interesting as it could be. I suppose that's what so many months of being away from it can do.

Desperate times call for desperate measures! ... Apparently nowadays desperate times is all the time.

Interesting, huh. Are you just waiting for something to happen?

Not particularly. Just killing some time before I move on, really. [Actually, he's just waiting for someone he can bribe into clearing the path towards Goldenrod. He really doesn't want to do the Union Cave/Azalea/Ilex Forest thing a second time.]

Killing every minute, one conversation at a time. I'm guessing you already stocked up for the road?

For all intents and purposes. It's not as if I really need that much, in an case.

You sure about that? I heard the cave can really mess up your sense of direction.
