Another inspection of his person and surroundings and he sees the unfamiliar clothing, doesn't see his sword anywhere

[Mashiro skips daintily down the stairs, her skirts rustling in a pleasing way, and stops when she sees her father in the family room.]

[And she steps forward to give her father a daughterly peck on the cheek.]
