In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night, no comic book cover shall escape my sight...

Hey Caroline! Why are you taking the time to snark about comics that haven't even come out yet when you claim you have no time to do Monitor Duty or write fic?

Because SHUT UP, that why!

I'm sorry, but I every time I hear or see anything about Brightest Day or White Lanterns, all I can think of is this comic from Let's Be Friends Again:

Nightmare Fuel Part 1:

I haven't been reading Batman because Tony Daniel, but what the hell happened to the Riddler? Did he get Joker-ized and then...zombified?

Nightmae Fuel Part 2:

From the solicitation text: "Plus, the horrifying fate of Black Mask is at last revealed!"

DC, no one cares about the fate of Black Mask.

You guys, this is going to rule SO HARD.

Batman and Superman are very, very disappointed in you.

You know, voodoo dolls shouldn't be adorable, but when it's a doll of Catman...

OH NO. A LADY IN HIGH HEELS HAS STEPPED LIGHTLY ON MY ARM I CANNOT POSSIBLY GET MY GUN NOW.

Is it just me or is the Spirit totally checking out Doc Savage?

Why is Barry wearing handcuffs? My theory is that Barry and Iris were getting into some kinky role-play when Barry had to go suit up and fight some crime. It's ok though. He'll be back before she notices.

"Plus, a brand-new co-feature kicks off introducing the fresh talents of Rex Ogle and Ted Naifeh (Courtney Crumrin) as they take Black Alice, Zatara and Traci 13 into uncharted magical territories."

Whoa, hold up! That sounds awesome! I might have to give Teen Titans another try.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about this, despite the weird-looking Booster on the cover (Is he balding?). Some people have complained because Judd Winick is co-writing it with Keith Giffen, but I think it'a a good thing. Giffen is always better when he works with a dialoguer (Robert Loren Fleming or J.M. DeMatteis) and if there's one thing Winick is good at, it's snappy dialogue.

Nightmare Fuel Part 3:

Is that a photograph? Seriously, blow it up and look. I guess it could just be a creepily realistic drawing.

All right! It's time for the bi-annual Roy/Dick angry sex fight issue! See also: Outsiders #11 , Nightwing #114.

BTW, did Roy get his prosthetic arm from the same guy who made Magog's armor or something?

See what I mean?

Also, something surprised me about this solicitation besides just the fact that Magog is still being published (sick burn!):

"But why are the Planeteers keeping their distance from Magog as well?"

Captain Planet is part of the DCU now?

What, are prosthetic arms the new hotness in the DCU right now?

solicitations, comics
