The good news is that my internet is back!
*begins dancing around living room, spouting lines from "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Caroll*
"O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
He chortled in his joy."
The bad news is that my car is going to take $1500+ to fix. And this is after I decided to buy second-hand replacement parts and the nice mechanic offered me a discount on the cost of labor. Fortunately, my mom said that she would pay for half of it. In the long run, I'm hoping that not reporting the accident to the insurance company will save us money because my rates won't go up.
The place where I took my car, 3C Body Shop, has to be the weirdest chain of garages ever. Their entire color scheme is pink, which juxtaposes nicely with the manly grease-covered mechanics. The billboard ads are pink, their waiting room is decorated in pink, and even their folders and paperwork are pink.
The owner of the company, Bob Juniper (is that even his real name?!), is featured on one of those ads on the sides of buses with the whites of his eyes colored in pink. The ad reads "Insurance companies make me see pink!" In the 3C waiting room, there was a framed portrait of Bob Juniper, autographed in pink gel pen.
It's weird, yet fabulous.
A quiz/meme thing:
I really loved the "His Dark Materials" trilogy. I'm looking forward to the movie with a cautious optimism.
