*Yuri's kicked back on the bed, waiting for her. When she sticks her head in, he looks at her, grins, and shakes his head*

I'm not gonna bite, Estelle. Come in.

*He gives the bed a pat next to him*

[ she pouts a little and makes her way into the room, sits on the bed next to him. ]

So ... [ she's still freaking out a little over the sudden marriage ]

*Yuri chuckles and reaches out, slipping his arm around Estelle and pulling her closer to him* Come here, you.

[ she can't help but giggle a little. she snuggles a bit closer to him as he pulls her near, thinking quietly for a little bit before answering. ]

Well ... you know how most girls fantasize about their wedding from the time they are children?

There was an actual ceremony, for one ...

When I was younger, I always assumed that I would be married in the castle. It would be a public display, with the formal white gown, and the black tuxedo ... there would be hundreds of people watching the ceremony, and sunlight pouring through stained glass windows. The knights would probably all be in attendance, and the council, and for that one day, everything would be just perfect.

[ she sighs a little and leans back against Yuri. ]

.. but of course, as I grew up, things changed. Now, I can't even begin to imagine what kind of wedding I would like to have. And, after this, I realize that while it would be nice to have a ceremony, it doesn't really change anything. As long as I'm with you ... [ she trails off, a small smile on her face. he can tell what she would say next, she's sure. ]

That probably sounds really corny ... [ insert sheepish laugh here. ]

*Yuri hugs her a little tighter and nuzzles her hair gently*

It's good to know what sorts of things you had in mind, what you might like. Just because two clowns in wizard hats said we're married doesn't mean I'm going to suddenly stop wanting to make you happy.

Just means we don't have to worry about finding someone who actually has the legal authority to make it binding. ... Given my track record with the authorities, that's probably for the best, really.

[ she smiles and leans against him, wrapping her arms around him and resting her head on his shoulder. ]

Well, Duo has been harping on me about when I was going to ask you for a while... I figure this way I can give him a little bit of a surprise. ... And before you pout, that's a joke.

*He lays his head against hers*

I love you, Estelle. I'm quite happy to spend the rest of my life with you. If anything, I worry I'm not good enough for you.

[ at first she does pout, but it's a joke. and it's Yuri humor. she knows this. she giggles and nuzzles his cheek just a little. ]

Yuri, you shouldn't worry about that. I love you, and that isn't changing at all. Not now, not ever. [ hugs him a little more, burying her face into his neck. ]

If you're worried you're not good enough because of my social status, that shouldn't be an issue in the least, especially not in this place. If it's because of the things you've done in the past, you already know I've accepted them, and that I know you did them for all the right reasons, even if there were probably better ways of handling them. You're a wonderful, noble person, Yuri Lowell.

And ... nothing would make me happier than to be Mrs. Lowell for the rest of my life.

Though, I suppose that since I can't think of anything better in my mind than you being Mrs. Lowell for the rest of your life, I've got my work cut out for me.

I was actually thinking on that, and it's one of the reasons I called you in here. Then we got sidetracked by confessing our love for each other. It's amazing what seeing you smile can do to me.
