Think You Know Anthony Hopkins?
Not sure if anyone else has seen the two movies I'm about to recommend...but I just want say that if all you know of Anthony Hopkins is "Silence of the Lambs", then you're really missing out!
Of course, he's been in dozens of really good movies. "Howard's End", "A Bridge Too Far", and "The Elephant Man" all stick out his earlier films, and there are many more I haven't mentioned here. But if you want to see him about as far from Hannibal Lecter as he can be, I would recommend seeing:
"84 Charing Cross Road"
and
"Arch of Triumph"
They're not high budget movies or anything, with lots of special effects (especially true of the somewhat poorly edited "Arch"), but they contain VERY solid acting. So, if you'd like to see noble, romantic Hopkins, head for these titles. If you like Sir Anthony, I'm almost sure you won't be disappointed!
