Chapter 2
One week later, Spike stalked into the mansion, duster snapping around him, his four minions playing escort. The minion who had answered the door was older than most, probably two decades, at least. He’d welcomed Spike and his escort cordially. Obviously, Spike had been expected. He was rather surprised that he hadn’t been met at the city limits. Either Xander’s overture was genuine or he was pulling a mindfuck worthy of Angelus.
Ignoring the resident minions, he sniffed at the air and smirked again. He couldn’t quite bring himself to smile. He was too wound up. Caution and exuberance warring within him, he motioned for his minions to stay put as he followed Drusilla’s scent into the garden courtyard. When he saw her, he came to a halt. She was so lovely, his heart clenched longingly.
She sat alone, her white dress gleaming in the dim light provided by the garden lamps. A small gray kitten sat in her lap, batting playfully at the jasmine covered twig she dangled enticingly. Drusilla smiled knowingly and lured the kitten onto the seat beside her before dropping the twig at its feet and standing to greet her childe.
“My William,” she gloated happily. She danced toward him, her long wispy skirt floating around her. She circled him coyly before leaning forward to kiss his lips ever so gently. “Welcome home,” she said firmly, eyes bright and cognizant. Spike smiled and circled her waist, pulling her into a relieved hug before capturing her mouth in a long passionate kiss.
“Do I get one of those too?” Xander interrupted with a wry grin.
Spike and Drusilla turned their heads to face the other vampire, cheek to cheek. He was standing in the open doorway leaning indolently against the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest. Spike’s nervous minions were clearly visible in the room behind him, as were several of Xander and Dru’s minions. Xander raised his eyebrows, silently daring Spike. Spike smirked at him, kissed Dru on the nose and released her. She smiled her satisfaction as the blond stalked purposefully toward his dark-haired rival, sexual energy pouring off him, causing Xander to straighten and shiver in anticipation. Dropping his arms, he took one hesitant step into the garden.
Spike stopped two feet away from him and focused for a long moment, blue eyes locked on brown. He didn’t want to make any mistakes here. But all he saw was desire, pure lust. There was no power play. At least not one he could see. Spike’s expression softened into a sexy little sneer that would have done Elvis proud and his eyes raked slowly up and down Xander’s body. The boy hardened visibly under his hot gaze. As their eyes met once more, he could see the worry in the boy’s eyes. The fear of rejection. That was unexpected. But then, the two of them were technically equals. Both childer of the same sire. Xander might be Master of Sunnydale, but he had no hold over Spike, no right to command him. The boy’s soft mouth was slightly open and Spike could see him breathing, his arousal perfuming the air more profoundly than the flowers around them.
Spike tilted his head, considering. Then black-nailed fingers trailed carefully up Xander’s neck and cheek before snaking through his silky dark hair and settling. Spike’s other hand slowly circled the boy’s waist, coming to rest at the small of his back.
A sort of triumphant satisfaction appeared in his blue eyes. Xander barely had time to register the change before Spike pulled him forward, bringing the full length of their bodies against each other. Xander’s eyes widened in surprise and Spike crushed his lips against the boy’s in a savage kiss. The kiss was enthusiastically returned and he felt Xander’s arms mirror his own. Fingers played along his neck and in his short platinum curls. A hand moved less gently down his body and cupped one buttock, pulling him even closer.
The kiss went on an on, each feeding the other’s desire. Hands roamed freely, exploring, learning. Never had Spike felt so overwhelmed by passion. The boy made him *feel* like no one else ever had. And from the feel of things, he was doing the same in return. Xander writhed against him, trying to touch him everywhere at once. Spike’s hand slid down Xander’s chest to cup around the hardness pressing so urgently against the black denim of the boy’s jeans. He squeezed. Xander came with a shout.
Watching the boy come apart in his arms was all it took for Spike to follow him over the edge. His head dropped against Xander’s neck as he panted softly. The brunet’s strong arms circled him, holding him gently. When those gentle hands started stroking his hair, he sighed and lifted his head.
“That was…” he began.
“Yeah,” Xander breathed, “it was.”
That was when Spike realized that, sometime during their passionate frenzy, he had pushed the boy against the wall beside the door. They were still leaning against it. All of the minions were staring, wide-eyed. He supposed they were lucky they both favored black jeans. The wetness would be difficult to see. He stepped back, twined his fingers through Xander’s and turned to face Drusilla, pulling Xander to his side. Drusilla was grinning madly. Her boys glanced at each other then unconsciously tilted their heads toward one another, giving their sire identical questioning looks.
Dru’s grin got even wider. She bit at her bottom lip and started to bounce, clapping. “Oh, my lovely boys!” she crowed delightedly. “Can I play too?”
Spike and Xander exchanged smirks and grinned back at her.
“Shall we take this upstairs?” Xander suggested mildly.
Drusilla darted up and kissed each of them sweetly then pushed her way between them and into the house. They followed slowly. She serenely looked back over her shoulder at them as she started up the stairs. “Do hurry along, then, boys,” she called down when she reached the top.
“We’ll be right up,” Xander assured her. “I just want to get Spike’s minions settled in first.”
“Alright then,” she replied lightly before she disappeared down the hall.
“Now,” Xander sighed, turning to Spike. “Tell me about these guys.”
“They’re mine,” Spike shrugged.
“Are they loyal to you?”
Spike’s eyes narrowed. “I’d dust them if they weren’t.”
“Of course,” Xander said easily. “But are they *loyal*?”
Spike frowned. He knew what Xander was asking. Did his minions serve him out of loyalty or was their service driven only by fear. He wasn’t sure how to answer. If he told the truth - that he had chosen those four *because* he trusted them to watch his back - Xander might dust them just to demonstrate his authority. But if he lied and said it was only fear, Xander might use that as an excuse to dust them as well, under the pretense of providing him with *trustworthy* minions. Better to tell the truth.
“They’ve been with me since LA. That’s where I went first when I left here. I’ve got others, of course, but these four I trust. They’re smarter than the average minion. And they’ll watch my back. That’s not a problem for you is it?”
Xander smiled. “No, Spike. It’s not a problem. I’m really not up to anything. Other than the obvious,” he said with a playful leer as his eyes roved over Spike’s exceptional body. “Please,” he continued, “introduce me.”
Spike nodded uncertainly. “Alright.” He led Xander over to the four uneasy vampires. “This is Mary,” he said indicating a pretty female with curly dark hair and clear green eyes. She smiled nervously. “And this is Alex,” Spike continued, his hand on the minion’s shoulder. Alex had long sandy blond hair and hazel eyes. “He and Mary are mates.” Alex nodded respectfully and Xander smiled, nodding acknowledgement.
Turning to the two remaining minions, Spike paused. They were obviously twins. Identical. And he never could tell them apart. Their light brown hair was cut in the same style. They dressed alike. They even smelled the same. Two pairs of hazel eyes peered at him in bemusement. “Alright!” he growled playfully. “You can stop smirking,” he told them. He looked at Xander who looked back at him with a confused expression. “You get used to it,” Spike informed him dryly. “These two are Jason and Jasper. If you can tell them apart, you’re doing better than me!”
Xander laughed. “Think it’s pretty funny don’t you?” he asked them.
“Isn’t it?” they asked in unison. Spike groaned. Xander laughed harder.
“I think I like them,” he told Spike. Spike just rolled his eyes. Xander called over the minion who had welcomed Spike. “This is Michael,” he told Spike. “You’ll meet the rest later, of course, but Michael is sort of the butler around here. Michael, see to it that our new friends are given rooms upstairs. Near the room you had prepared for Spike. Spike’s eyebrows went up marginally.
“Certainly, Master.”
“One other thing, Michael,” Spike said lightly. The minion paused and turned back to him.
“Yes, Master Spike?” he asked politely.
“Prepare a third room as well. One right next to mine. My childer will be joining us tomorrow evening.”

A/N: No, this is *not* going to turn into a Mary Sue. The other characters will be explained but they will not play a large role. They’ll just sort of be there. At least that’s the way I have it planned…
