Harry Potter Meme

I spotted this years ago and always wanted to try it, so, hey, why not? Stolen from Twirlynoodle, and dangit but they and I have fairly similar tastes, so there might be some overlap.

The Books in Order from Favorite to Least Favorite:
1. Philosopher's Stone
2. Half-Blood Prince
3. Prisoner of Azkaban (I'm sorry, but it's been a while since I read the whole series through.)
4. Goblet of Fire
5 (tie). Chamber of Secrets
5 (tie). Order of the Phoenix
8. The Tales of Beedle the Bard
9. Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
10. Quididitch Through the Ages
11-20. Insert various fanfictions here
21. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Number of Times You Have Read the Series:
The first book, lost count a long time ago. The series as a whole, from PS/SS to GoF, I'm going to put down at around five times. At least. At least twice for OotP and HBP apiece. DH once. Only once.

Favorite Chapter from Your Favorite Book:
Chapter 12 of PS/SS, "The Mirror of Erised."

Five Favorite Characters:
Luna, Fred&George, Dumbledore, Lupin, and a toss-up between Slughorn and Tonks

Three Least Favorite Characters:
Grawp, The Carrows. Umbridge.

Favorite Member of the Trio:
Hermione Granger.

Three Favorite Magical Creatures:
Phoenixes, kneazles, Fwoopers.

Favorite Family:
The Ollivanders. Sorry, that's cheating... but really the only other possible answer 'The Weasleys' because families are in short supply in Potterland.

Favorite Villain:
Tom Riddle, Jr, not Voldemort. Hands down.

Favorite Death Eater:
Bellatrix Lestrange (because of Helena Bonham Carter)

Favorite Non-Hogwarts Magical Building:
The Ministry of Magic.

Favorite Diagon Alley Location:
Mr. Ollivander's Wand Shop. Failing that, Flourish & Blotts.

Three Favorite Spells:
Expecto Patronum, Lumos, Priori Incantetem

Three Favorite Potions:
Veritaserum, Polyjuice, and of course, Felix Felicis.

Favorite Unforgivable Curse:
Cruciatus To quote Twirlynoodle, "it makes any situation more dramatic!"

Favorite Department of Mysteries Room:
The one with the brains. What the hell WERE those?

Biggest Surprise:
Lupin and Tonks' death. That was when I had to put the book down.
Outside of that, though, honestly, I don't think any moment had me going "WHAT THE--" more than the moment when Sirius goes, "So, Harry. I see you've met Mummy" or whatever it is. Except, Harry as the final Horcrux. That was very well-done.

Biggest Letdown:
I have taken an oath never to talk about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows while intoxicated. I have broken glasses.

Favorite Mode of Transportation:
Flyin' Carpet.

Favorite Weasley:
Percy, for what he could have been (the Redheaded Pimpernel, anyone?) And Fred & George for how JKR actually wrote 'em.

Favorite Order Member:
Nymphadora Tonks.

Favorite pet:
HEDWIIIIG (oh, she's attacking Harry savagely as a show of affection. That's one affectionate owl!).

One Character You’d Bring Back to Life:
Putting aside all the people we really love who die, TwirlyNoodle mentioned Professor Quirrel, and that, I have to say, is interesting, what a pitiable, complex character who really gets very little screentime. Also, Gellert Grindelwald. (Rawr)

Moment That Will Always Make You Cry:
The hospital scene in book six. "He would be happier than anyone to know there was a little more love in the world."

Favorite Hogwarts Room:
The Ravenclaw Common Room

Favorite Class:
Divination, or Charms.

Favorite Teacher:
Minerva McGonagall.

Favorite DADA teacher:
Remus Lupin

Least Favorite Teacher:
(to quote Twirlynoodle) Prof Binns ... anyone who can make something as cool as the history of magic that boring is just BAD.

Favorite Non-Human Hogwarts Resident:
Fawkes

Favorite Hogsmeade Location:
Honeyduke's/The Three Broomsticks

Favorite Triwizard Champion:
Fleur. I always thought she got little respect from Rowling. But c'mon, a mixed-species girl growing up in an intolerant, conservative society who's got the brains and guts to be selected by the Goblet of Fire, who adores her sister -- there's a story there, you know it.

Favorite Triwizard Task:
The Unexpected Task. Seriously, I can't choose between the Lake and the Maze.

Which Character You’d Ask to the Yule Ball:
Gellert Grindelwald. Rawr. Probably a horrid boyfriend but a great dance partner.
(Alt: Luna. Because I'm not great at dancing at balls.)

Which Character You’d Like to Use a Love Potion On:
Gilderoy Lockhart. Give him the hots for Professor Trelawney. Oh yes.

Which Character You’d Like to Use Veritaserum On:
Mr. Ollivander.

How Long You Have Been a HP Fan:
Almost twelve years (started Philosopher's Stone when I was almost ten, so, yeah)

Favorite Wizard Rock Band:
Huh? I have some favorite filks...

Number of Midnight Releases You Have Attended:
OotP, HBP, DH... and movie releases: OotP, HBP, DH1&2. (So, in total, seven)

Favorite HP Website:
The Sugar Quill. Nowadays the one I go to most is the HP wiki.

Most Ridiculous Potter Theory You’ve Heard:
Oh, I've heard some doozies. But I scorned my teacher who told me (pre-OotP) that there was a woman somewhere in Snape's past, that she suspected he was motivated by a lost love. And I said, "Oh, come on. Rowling would never do THAT, that's too cliche."

Character You’re Most Like:
Probably Mr. Weasley, actually, with a dash of Luna.

House You Think You’d Be Sorted Into:
Ravenclaw!

Your Patronus Would Be A:
Australian Sheepdog.

To You, Amortentia Would Smell Like:
Old books, lavender candles, and fresh brownies.

You’d Use Felix Felicis To:
Go out on the town with my friends for a perfect day... AFTER I sought acceptance at my dream job/institution, and sat down to plot out my next novel in meticulous, perfect detail.

The Job You Would Most Like to Try:
Obliviator.

Which You Would Rather See - a Sequel or a Prequel:
A rewrite of book seven.
Or a prequel of Dumbledore and Grindelwald. But not written by JK Rowling.

The Movies in Order from Favorite to Least Favorite:
Chamber of Secrets is definitely last on the list. Prisoner of Azkaban fluctuates around the top depending on how important I think 'being a faithful adaptation' is. Half Blood Prince is probably right on the top, followed by OotP. And the DH movies are surprisingly well-ranked.

EITHER/OR...

Animagus or Metamorphmagus: Animagus!

Hippogriffs or Thestrals: Hippogriffs
Invisibility cloak or Pensieve: Tough call. Pensieve.
Mermish or Parselmouth: Parselmouth.
Occlumency or Legilimency: Leglimency..
Peeves or Nearly Headless Nick: Nearly Headless Nick
Peter Pettigrew or Mundungus Fletcher: Peter, who had his redeeming qualities until JKR finished book seven..
Professor Binns or Professor Umbridge: Soul crushing boredom or subversive authoritarian thought? You can't rebel against boredom.
S.P.E.W or the Inquisitorial Squad: Neither. School newspaper (run by Luna Lovegood.)
The Ministry of Magic or Gringotts: Ministry of Magic
Three Broomsticks or The Leaky Cauldron: Three Broomsticks
Werewolf or Inferus: Werewolf
