*Cringes* A friend was over last night, and by the time she left you were offline. Sorry! :( I did get your IM though. And AIM is supposed to show when I'm idle, dang it.

You know how sometimes to be cool or mysterious or something writers will work Tarot cards somehow into their story, even obliquely, but they clearly know nothing about the cards themselves beyond 'Death doesn't mean real death, it means change,'

I think I saw Nine of Cups and the King of Cups and oh my god they RESEARCHED it and it's AWESOME!

That's good. I know very little about tarot cards, but apparently they're quite complicated.

Song of the South

Wasn't that the racist movie people said Disney had better make up for in this one? With Uncle Remus singing to a bunch of smug white children? Or did I hear that from the same bunch who think Harry Potter's an occult book? (Because really, just about anything can be made into something offensive if anyone tries hard enough, but I also think Disney's... um... a very old company that was a product of its own times.)

-_- Song of the South is a very touchy subject with a lot of people... me, I tend to be touchy because I've seen the movie and I actually like it a lot as a movie, and I'm always irritated that people only know it as an old racist shame, where I never picked up on those sorts of things as a child. I really like Song the South, but I can see why other people don't.
