Junsu doesn’t know when it became like falling. One step starts with the diminishing of space; two steps, there’s the friction between bodies, and it’s a collision course on the proper strides, except he’s fighting against gravity and a bit of something else.
They keep going, one as unaware as the other is attuned. They reach the point of escalation, step in step, push and grind, when Jaejoong’s voice breaks the surface and brings him back to piano benches and ivory keys.
“And that’s how it should go,” he says.
The last chord fades, and Junsu manages a smile, half-hearted.
