I haven't updated in a while about life, and haven't been in much mood to, but today was kinda special.
There were squirrels.
Around 4, mum called me downstairs and outside- where she had a box taped up. There were three young black squirrels. They'd possibly been abandoned- or had fallen out of their nest- but because they were next to a school and on a mainish road, mum decided to rescue them (after seeing one run into the road and nearly be hit by a car). They'd been out since lunchtime, and it was getting cold and starting to rain.
So I spent an hour on the phone/internet looking up what I needed to do- and make sure my mum didn't do - and that cumulated in an hour and half drive out to Keele and Sheppard and dropping the babies (five weeks) off to Wildlife Services where they'll be raised and eventually released back out into the wild.
It was both awesome, exhausting, and annoying. Heh.
Being as they were wild animals, I felt kinda unsure about photos of em (especially as two were clearly cold and shockey, and one was highly agitated) so no pics. They looked like
this, but times three. XD
It did not at all go anything like this.

HATS!
If you're curious as to what I brought to the Steampunk con last weekend, I have my gallery up
here. The con was a great success, and I had a lot of fun. I'd totally suggest checking it out if you're into the scene next year- and personally, I nearly SOLD OUT. Which, for a con of maybe 300 people, is FANTASTIC and makes me glee.
Sadly, all monies went to emergency dental work and a new mattress for my bed, but necessary evils!
