Summary: Booth wants to know who gave Sweets his job.
Whoever gave Sweets this job had to be completely and utterly insane. First of all, the kid is too young and naive to know what the hell he's talking about. There are RULES and they are put in place for very specific reasons and Sweets doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. He's delusional. Again I pose the question, who the hell gave him his job? He's completely off his rocker and I'm sure my reaction is only spurring the kid on more in his bullshit analysis. He has no proof really. Just a bunch of unrelated events strung together by his conspiracy theorist mind.
I am NOT in love with Bones. Preposterous. Her ideas about life and people are so whacked. To her everything is just inborn tendencies and chemical reactions. Love doesn't exist. How can you be in love with someone who doesn't believe in it? Not possible. For that and many other reasons I am NOT in love with Bones. I'm only reacting the way I am because Sweets took me off guard. I don't like being blindsided. The kid came at me with that shit eating grin of his and nodded a bit before dropping the bomb on me.
"So....In love with Dr. Brennan, hmm? I suspected it but now I'm sure. It explains a lot, actually."
I don't know what you would've done but I couldn't do much myself but just stand there. My big witty retort after that bomb? "You have no idea what you're talking about, Sweets." and I turned on my heel, very manly-like, and absolutely did not run away. I walked very calmly to somewhere that he wasn't. That's how I ended up in a bar where no one I knew was bound to find me.
I drank myself stupid and ended up with a hangover the size of Texas. A man in love doesn't....Wait, no, I've done that while "in love" before. Bones is my partner. We work together, sure. Watching her turn into an actual woman with protective maternal instincts was...nice. I'd like to see her that way more often...Oh...My...GOD. I'm in love with Bones....Brennan...Temperance. Sweets was right. Shit.
