Innocence (France)
This was a enchanting and magical tale set in a mysterious girls' boarding school. The girls arrive there in coffins, they are forbidden to go outside the school wall (though some do escape), and the eldest girls go every night somewhere else.

The whole movie is told from the viewpoint of the children: they are in this place, there are these mysterious rules, but still they manage to have fun, and be children. Some of them are desperate to escape, some of them accept their confinement in the school grounds.

Unlike Nobody Knows, this film managed to keep my attention the entire 2 hrs+ it lasted. I guess the main thanks goes to the incredibly well-built ambience, and the girls' perfomances. 8/10

Appleseed (Appurushîdo, Japan)
This was an ok anime action film. Lots of big high-paced action, big robots and robotics armor, with some pretty anime girls thrown in. The main story was nothing original, but the film looked nice and had some nice action sequences. 7/10

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (UK)
This was absolutely hilarious. Funniest movie in the entire festival! Guaranteed W&G material: non-stop visual & verbal gags from start to finish. Go see it, it's hilarious! XD 10/10

George Michael: A Different Story (UK)
I was never a huge Wham or George Michael fan, but I did like the music. Some of the stuff in this documentary brought back lots of memories from the 1980s...

A very interesting, open and honest documentary about George Michael, where he and his friends talk about his career, his person and all kinds of events during his career. You get new insights into his person, some of the songs he's written, and lots of music and hones comments by George about his music and his life. Very interesting. 9/10

In addition to these, having liked the looks of Lee Buyng-hun in A Bittersweet Life, I also decided to finally watch my dvd of Joint Security Area, and discovered it's yet another very good and thought-provoking South-Korean film. 8/10

Veronica Mars also started here today, and by the first episode, it looks like I'll be seeing where it goes, since it looks *very* interesting...
