The Ring & horror & Shikdum

I'd read everywhere that The Ring is awfully, having nightmares for weeks, scary, but I guess the American version is pretty watered down, or my taping it first and watching the scary-seeming-bits on fast-forward strategy worked really well... I think I've mentioned it before, but I don't really like horror or scary films, but still do watch some of them, because they are talked about so much, or the subject matter seems so interesting, or I want to know what they are about.

I've noticed that turning the sound off and having the ability to gloss over (i.e. fast-forward through) the scarier bits lets me be able to watch the films I normally wouldn't want to watch, because they are too scary for me. Still, there weren't that many ff-bits in this version of the Ring.

On a completely unrelated matter, I finally noticed today that "Shikdum" from Dhoom is a direct copy of "Sikidim (Hepsi Senin Mi?)" by Tarkan. Still, I do have to say that I wouldn't have noticed the connection if someone hadn't mentioned it at the "Dhoom" discussion on Bollywhat. Listening to the two songs afterwards, it was just such a -DUH!- moment :/.
