First of all, Happy Valentine's Day everybody! I love my f-list ♥!!!

Family
I had a great time this weekend at my mother's looking after my sister's kids. We left there on Friday afternoon and were together on Friday, but on Saturday my sister and her husband left for a birthday party that was held at this cabin fairly near to my mother's place. I had agreed to stay with the kids at my mother's.

The children are really well brought up, but of course a pair of 6- and 8-year-olds are very active and high-energy and can be a bit tiring at times. The problem is that my mother is not at all good with children: she has no authority over them and can't really handle their amount of energy. This is especially evident in her attitude towards Eemeli, my nephew (I have two younger sisters, no brothers, and most of my cousins in the same age group are girls as well). Which is why my sister asked me to come along.

They had fun watching movies with me and playing in the snow even though it was really cold during the weekend (around -15-20 Celcius). Heh heh, watching Enchanted with them offered plenty of chances of giving sudden hug attacks or going for exaggerated 'princess kisses' (Eemeli is at the age to find kissing etc. totally gross XD).

Fandom
On the fandom front, I feel quite weird for being so happy and excited about Kis-My-Ft2 finally getting their CD debut this Spring, because I hardly follow the group. Still, seeing the clip from their concert where they actually got the surprise announcement (and it really was a total surprise to them) brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations Kisumai!!!

Fringe
The moment I got back to town, I just had to check out the latest episode of Fringe. I'm totally addicted to the show, though I have to say I'm actually happy that I didn't discover it earlier, since I could marathon catch up with 2,5 seasons of it at my own pace.

The latest episode was wonderful with many interesting and overwhelmingly noteworthy developments in it. Most of the following are reaction shots right after having watched the latest episode:

OMG!!! Fauxlivia is pregnant with Peter's baby. And just when her longtime boyfriend had asked her to marry him. It's clear she still has feelings for Peter even though she's trying to make everyone, including herself, believe that it was only a mission.

And how creepy was Walternate showing up to celebrate his future grandchild the minute he heard about it… It's like Fauxlivia has no choice at all about the matter...

Still, I found it interesting how he wouldn't condone experimenting with children, unlike Walter who had all those Cortexiphan (sp?) experiments on Olivia and the other kids.

I think it's to do with the two Walters' different histories: Walter lost his son at a young age and although he did get a replacement from the Other Side, it also made him willing to engage in more and more reckless and even unethical experiments in the name of science. Just like the way he made the hole in reality and travelled there, and thus made both universes start to break down.

Walternate's priority, on the other hand, was protecting children (especially after losing his son) and his world. In order to do those, he was willing to engage in quite a few questionable practices, but NOT anything to do with experimenting on children.
