IRIS
I restarted watching Iris today from the second episode. I had watched the first episode when the drama was airing, but decided to put the drama on hold at the time, since the wait between episodes would have been unbearable with this kind of an intense dramatic series. Also, at the time, I was more in the mood for fluffiness, so You're Beautiful fit my mood better.
Now that the entire drama is finished, I can start again. And funnily enough, I'm actually watching it with Finnish subtitles, since some guy on d-addicts is translating it into Finnish. Sub quality is very good based on one episode, though there are some small grammar mistakes (yhdys sana virheitä :P), but nothing too bad.
I don't know if the cut is really necessary, since everybody interested seems to have already watched it, but just in case:
I've seen some spoilers on how this is going to go, but nothing too much. Still, given the heavy foreshadowing ("he's going to turn into a monster"), it's pretty evident that things are going to end in blood and tears. I don't mind, I like watching an angsty doomed drama every once in a while :).
Still, this is early days and Kim Hyun Joon (Lee Byung Hun) and Choi Seung Hee's (Kim Tae Hee) budding romance with surreptitious glances and and slight smiles seems very cute at this point. And I loved the scene where in the meeting room, where she was playing footsie and he handcuffed her ankle to the table.
Hyun Joon's buddy Jin Sa Woo (Jung Joon Ho) is also infatuated with her, but I think he got the clue in the end of the second episode when all three had been drinking the night before and passed out on her apartment floor. When he wakes up, he sees Seung Hee curled up against Hyun Joon's chest.
Looks like there is something bigger in the background, given Hyun Joon's flashback to his childhood in the President's office. He remembers he was there with his parents and how his parents were killed. Like I said before, there is are a lot of hints that he is doomed right from the start and it may have something to do with his parents who seem to have been some kind of nuclear scientists...

And as a completely random comment, Becky's appearance on the 2010.02.25 5LDK was adorable and hilarious! There was a lots of love talk with TOKIO and I'm so jealous of how she got to be carried in Nagase's arms when they enacted a fantasy date in the show. Her mother seems like a fun lady as well XD.
