Anjaam

Not to talk only about good Bollywood films, I just finished watching Anjaam with Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. This is definitely not recommended for BW newbies!, but it's occasionally hilarious in a sick sort of way. And, oh, how Madhuri's character suffers...

Shahrukh plays a rich brat named Vijay Agnihotri who after once seeing Madhuri's character Shivani decides he is in love with her. He will let nothing come between them, not even Shivani's marriage to another guy.

To accomplish this, he completely ruins her life:
Vijay kills Shivani's husband after beating him to a pulp, sends her to prison accused of trying to kill him (Vijay), kills her daughter and sister while driving drunk, etc. etc. When things start to go badly for Shivani, you just know that it will get even worse and you are just waiting to see what happens, and how she SUFFERS!

In his other baddie movies, SRK has been sort of cute, but in this film he is an irredeemable bastard who cares for no one but himself :p.

Shivani finally gets her chance to get back at Vijay who is now paralysed after the drunken driving incident. Shivani used to work at a hospital for handicapped people before her misfortunes started, and she offers to nurse Vijay back to health just to be able to get her revenge on a healthy man. The physical therapy scenes are hilarious: she bumps him on the head with a tennis ball, does a sexy dance around him, and finally dumps him in a pool, LOL.

The film is really violent and gory, and all of the characters are pretty horrid by the end of the film. Still, I wish Shahrukh played a villain in more movies, because he does the stalkerish psychotic role so well, both in this film and in Darr. Madhuri, too, is quite scary once she goes into major revenge mode.
