I very much liked the old 80s V series, so I was a bit scared of how the remake would look like.
I just watched the first episode of the new series, and it looks good. Morena Baccarin's alien leader is pretty creepy. I also find the fact that this time they are connecting the visitors with terrorists not that necessary. It was enough to compare them to the nazis, like in the original. Are the makers afraid that people wouldn't catch the reference? That would make me really sad!!
I'm still uncertain whether it's a good or a bad thing that the main male black character is revealed as a rebel V right from the start. Robert Englund's slightly goofy and sympathetic character was very likeable, but it seems this version is taking a different route. Though it does make it interesting to follow how things will turn out.
Then again, Alan Tudyk seems to be doomed to guest appearances as the random baddie...
The way Diana Anna forced Scott Wolff's journalist to only tell her story was right out of the original.
