Looking for Dorothy is a 4-part Korean detective miniseries. The story centres around a kidnapped little girl and the search for her. Her parents are estranged and have been living apart for about a year.
The story slowly reveals the reasons for their separation while also showing times when they were still happier (it's pretty obvious that the writer feels they should still be together).
The husband is a well-known tv anchor and has a new relationship going on with his co-host. From clues picked up from the story, it seems this affair might be behind the couple's separation. Nowadays, the wife is also involved with a new man. Both blame each other for their child's disappearance.
The investigative team isn't that better. It's led by a man who was put for two years on traffic duty after he failed to shoot a suspect causing one of his colleagues to be killed. A lot of the other cops look down on him and despise him for that and are even hindering his investigation for old grudges' sake.
The perky female cop has an obvious crush on the investigator and the third member of the team seem more like the humorous sidekick another member doing serious investigative work.
This kind of an investigation can either break a family or bring it back together. And this series does work through a lot of the parents' issues and reasons behind their growing apart.
In the end, the cases are solved and the situation is resolved, but life still must go on.
This was well-done, with a good cast and good writing. It's a good, short detective story and entertaining enough if you want to catch some short drama (4x50 min).
