Dostana
I visited sassiefin today in order to watch some Bolly movies with her. She cooked us Indian food (Lamb curry from The Bollywood Cookbook) and I brought the wine. We started with The Outer World of Shahrukh Khan, a documentary on Shahrukh Khan (her DVD player wouldn't play the Inner World disc :P) and continued on with Dostana which was hilarious! Great fun was had by us both.
There were a lot of fun moments in the film, like the discussion on Gabbar Singh being gay, the Venice love story, etc. I loved Kirron Kher's role as Sam's mom, histrionics and all. The moment when she finally accepted Kunal as Sam's partner was really sweet.
Abhishek Bachchan has such great comic timing that John Abrahan was completely outshined by him. Though they did compensate by offering plenty of shirtless John in the film... XD
I like Priyanka Chopra and thought she was very nice in this film. I even liked Bobby Deol's Abhi (*shock*), even though I'm not usually that fond of him. And it's good that he and Neha got together in the end, instead of her choosing either of the other two guys.
The only thing that I didn't really like was the way Sam and Kunal manipulated that little defenseless kid just to further their own agenda.
Still, the movie was really fun and both of us enjoyed it a lot!
