Ryusei no Kizuna 9 and Bloody Monday 5

Obviously there are going to be spoilers for both in this post, so don't click on the lj-cuts unless you want to be spoiled...

Ryusei no Kizuna 9

Hah, I knew Togami didn't kill the parents. He was just too obvious a choice to have really done it. And he didn't even steal the Hayashi rice recipe, he actually paid for it - probably when the Ariake parents were in money trouble. I have my own thoughts as to the identity of the real killer, but I'll wait and see how it turns out.

The "umbrella" mention was a really good 'uh oh' moment, since up till then everybod has only been talking of the item the killer left behind and then Togami mentioned that it was an umbrella... The silence afterwards was wonderful.

I love how intense this episode was: Yukinari finding out that Shii was deceiving him, and with such a minor mistake like perfume in her hands when she placed the recipe book in the archives; the Ariake three wondering about what he was going to do; revealing themselves as swindlers to the detective; and, of course, the final confrontation...

Still, I love how humour wasn't forgotten either. Taisuke and Koichi as men-in-black was hilarious, as was Koichi nervousness before his first "performance". On a shallow note, both guys looks really good in suits!

I wonder if Yukinari will be able to forgive the deception to Shii, since they both clearly love each other (even Taisuke approves :)), but at this point discovering the identity of the murderer seems more important. I can well understand Yukinari's motivation for joining the Ariake 3, just because he can't live in doubt and wants to find out the truth.

I'm tempted to watch the raw of the final episode, but luckily I'll be away (visiting my mother) during the weekend, so I can't succumb to the temption. Also, those people posting the identity of the killer in d-addicts (under spoiler cut, though) are also evil, because there is a huge temptation to click and find out the truth...

Bloody Monday 5

This episode finally came out. Yay! I just hope they'll release the rest of the episodes in a faster schedule now that they got this one done.

The scene at the cafe with Orihara and J and Fujimaru was interesting, even though I felt the firefight in the end was a bit overdone. It also seemed like almost everybody in the cafe was either a terrorist or a Third-i operative :).

Fujimaru does come off as a bit young and naive at times, just like J comments. His pleading with Kirishima to accept the terms of the terrorists in order to save his fiance's life and the way he reacted to the mention that his father was connected to the terrorists both reveal that.

Then again, I can understand that it would be hard to believe that his father is one of the bad guys. I wonder what the truth is, since his father could also be working undercover in order to work against the terrorists, but, of course, can't reveal it to his family.

Looks like there is and antidote (or anti-virus, whatever) to the Bloody X virus, but now it's a race between Fujimaru and his friends and the terrorists in order to see who finds it first.

I thought it sad how Kirishima's fiance was all alone, except for the female agent, since he was burying himself in work and wouldn't even go to see her. Even the female agent was begging him to visit his fiance. He did lose his composure for a moment when he was alone in the elevator, but otherwise he seems to be fixated on finding and stopping the terrorists before anything else.

Looks like next episode is going to have a lot happening in it, with everybody converging on the research institute that supposedly holds the anti-virus. The father-son confrontation is also sure to prove interesting. Can't wait to see it!
