Back to Hanadan watching...
Domyouji is objecting to Makino working in the house, saying he won't allow it, but his mind changes pretty quickly when Tama suggests that Makino be his personal maid :D. He immediately starts daydreaming of Makino in a slightly sexier version of her maid outfit, willing to on him hand and foot. ROFL! I love how he's munching those imaginary apples caught up on his own imagination.
Makino gets into a complete panic at this suggestion, saying she can do anything but be his maid, but Domyouji is all for the plan now, gigling by himself and imagining how wonderful Makino as his maid would be *G*.
He tries to say it's only because Tama suggested it, but can't stop his grin.
The Eitoku three are pretty predictable in their actions. Upon finding out that Makino is now living with Domyouji, they immediately start to toady up to her.
Oh, Rui, you look wonderful! (Ok, I, too, gave a slight scream when he showed up. Ahem, caught up on this drama much...)
Makino is apologizing to him for not having called and tells that she really doesn't have any other place to stay than Domyouji's house, and Tsubaki was the one who told she could stay there. But she's not only living there, she's also working as a maid.
Oh, Rui (yes, I know I'm repeating that phrase a lot). He's asking Makino about Valentine's day and how she asked Domyouji out instead of him. When he hears that she asked Domyouji to meet her in order to tell him it was too late between them, he clearly thinks there is hope for a romance between him and Makino.
Aww, Rui! He's asking her is he's one of the reasons that she is confused. Maybe he still has a chance, but no, no, no, Rui, you're too late. You never had a chance because Makino and Domyouji are meant to be together. You are so going to get your heart stomped on!
While Makino is cleaning his room, Domyouji is asking her if she meant what she said the other night, about needing a reason to stay near him. He's wondering if there is a chance for them to be together after all. And again with the backward hugging...
Heh, Tama is spying on the two of them together, and hears how he says he would give his life for Makino.
LOL, then Akira comes to visit and both Makino and Domyouji are pretending to frantically clean his room, of course, looking awfully suspicious in the process XD. Akira tells that he saw Tama at the door just now, spying on them. Both Makino and Domyouji are horrified, and Akira is telling them not do do "anything reckless". LOL!
The reason he is there is that he hasn't been able to reach Soujiro lately and is worried about him. YES! We are going to get the Soujiro backstory!
Then Makino gets a call that nobody has seen Yuki either for at least a week.
Heh, what a change from the Domyouji of before. When Makino accidentally splashes his soup on him, he isn't phased at all and doesn't even get angry at her. He just keeps staring after her, wondering what is the matter with her.
Then he barges into her room and asks what is the matter. She's initially embarrassed that he's actually in her room, but he says she's acting all weird and says she can talk to him if something is the matter. Tama sure is prone to eavesdrop on their discussion, since she is again behind the door trying her best to hear them.
Then Domyouji, always the man of action, suggests they go look for Yuki.
"Love So Sweet" really is a huge earworm...
Shigeru arrives at the Domyouji mansion just to see Tsukasa dragging Makino behind him, because he's intent on starting the search for Yuki immediately. Seeing the two together, she hides, but clearly wonders why they were together.
Domyoji, hearing that Soujiro hasn't been home either, suggests that maybe Yuki and Soujiro are together. LOL, rich boy is immediately prepared to call to police chief for help, because they don't have any clues into finding Yuki, but Makino stops him from making the call.
"Well, this is a serious case concerning your best friend, so we gotta mobilize the entire force of the entire nation." Heee! Domyouji really goes all out when he's asked for help *g*.
Aww, Makino and Domyouji eating hot dogs together is so sweet. He says that they never did this together in New York, so he wants to do it now. Then he tastes it and it's horrible. At first she accuses him of too refined taste, but when tastes her own hot dog, she, too, finds it disgusting. And they are laughing together. Aww!
Wha..?! Sara has dumped Soujiro *twice*?! First after high school and again last year after Valentine's Day. No wonder he's caught up on her, since he's usually the one dumping the other person.
Domyoji and Makino go look for Sara, only to find out that she has quit her job at the tea school. The scenes are intercut with Soujiro near some house in the countryside. So, he's gone to look for Sara there. Then she sees him standing on the yard. LOL, he's trying to claim he was just in the neighbourhood - and this is clearly in the middle of nowhere - and just decided to pop by.
So, he has gone there to return her tea pot which she left at the civic centre where she was giving the tea lessons.
Hee, I guess it's time for Matsuda Shota to be pretty and angsty this time :). The meeting between Soujiro and Sara is so awkward. Soujiro says he's going to wait until Sara finishes at work. Naah, that girl is too boring and ordinary for you, Yuki is a much better choice!
LOL, Akira the mob boss's son has mobilized his troop to watch for Yuki as well. He tells Domyouji that Yuki has been seen wondering around Tokyo. When Makino and Tsukasa finally spot her, they only come to the scene to see her collapse on the street. From her notes, it seems she has been searching for some particular building.
When Yuki wakes up, she tells them that she went to Soujiro's house on Valentine's Day and was the only one admitted to the house. She was all excited, but then he asked her about Sara. Then we're told of the girl who once asked him to meet her at six o'clock in the morning, but he never went to the meeting and kept regretting the decision. And Yuki was the one who told Soujiro that the meeting sounded silly and adviced him not to go there...
Soujiro is thinking Sara never loved her and only wanted to meet him to reject him, which was also one of the reasons he never went. He thought she loved his brother. But Yuki has been searching for the building where they were to meet, because she wanted to find out what Sara meant to say to Soujiro.
Yikes, that coat!!!
Then Soujiro comes to the F4 lounge. Akira, Makino and Domyouji all say they have been worried about him after the wy he disappeared.
Yuki looks so happy when she announces to Makino that she finally found the building she was looking for. Makino says she'll tell Domyouji to ask Soujiro to go to the building the next morning.
Domyouji is again willing to act as a confidante to someone else. He's telling Soujiro that he's there for him if he wants to talk. When Soujiro went to the countryside to look for Sara, he was clearly trying to find out if she loved his brother. But she says she was crying, because he left so suddenly and she was shocked by it. Then she tells him that Shou-chan was like a big brother to her and nothing more.
Then he asks, "What about me?" and she gets a very sad look on her face, but doesn't say anything. And at that point a young man comes to the scene and interrupts them.
I like how Sara is telling Soujiro that Yuki is a wonderful girl who appears to like him a lot. He should cherish her. OMG! He's offering to take her on a ride on the back of his bike, just when it has been established that he never lets girls ride on it! But she only replies that she's getting married to the young man that he saw earlier. It really is too late for them, and Soujiro can only congratulate her on her impending marriage.
BTW, I really love the lighting and colours on this scene!
Aww, poor emo Soujiro! He's crying inside his scarf while walking away from her! But when he's talking with Domyoji, he's pretending he wasn't affected by the scene at all, and only felt like a fool.
Then he hears from Domyouji that Yuki has been looking for the building where he was supposed to meet Sara every night and that she finally found it and wants Soujiro to meet her there the next morninig.
Yuki is waiting for him on the street, but Soujiro is only partying with a bunch of girls. And they both keep checking their watches.
She's already starting to think he won't show up, but then at the last minute he rushes out and is RUNNING (love how they always have to run :D) towards the meeting place.
And then he sees what Sara wanted to show him, the sign saying "I love you, Jiroh" and we get the lovely emo shot of Soujiroh crying because he realizes that she did love him after all, but he lost his chance with her when he missed that meeting a year ago.
Completely agree with his words here because if I wanted to tell a guy I loved him, I sure would find some less elaborate way of doing it... Like, saying it out loud...
Soujiro is telling Yuki that he must look stupid, because he never told Sara he liked him, because he thought she liked his brother. But then he thanks her for all that she did for him. Finding out the truth has changed something inside him, and perhaps he can now move on. Then they are smiling and laughing together... Yes, secondary OTP cuteness!
After this experience, Soujiro is also advising Makino not to worry about other think about her, but to do her best and to be honest about her feelings. His words make her think that she must finally make a choice between the men in her life - though it's pretty obvious who she will choose...
She goes to Domyouji's room that evening and tells him she's going to meet Hanazawa Rui the next day. Domyouji is getting all worked up, when she continues that she's going to tell Rui that she doesn't want to go out with him and that he isn't the person she cares most about at the moment. I love the look on Domyoji's eyes when he hears this declaration. MatsuJun really does such an excellent job of conveying the interplay of feelings in Domyouji's mind in just those few brief looks!
After Makino leaves the room, we are shown that all the time she was making this announcement, she was tightly clutching the Saturn necklace in her hand. Aww!
But poor Rui! *feels sorry for him* He's so happy when Makino calls him and asks to meet with him. When she says she has something to say to him, he asks if it's good news or bad news.
And when she stays silent, he probably guesses what kind of news it's going to be. So when the phone call ends, he's sitting there, all emo, on the windowsill.
Grr, really hate Shigeru when she shows up in Makino's room and asks her if she'll celebrate her marriage to Domyouji with her. That's unnecessary cruelty! And the way she announces that she's going to spend the night at Tsukasa's room. Very hateful!
Sniff, Rui is crying! He really has awfully bad luck with his romances. I want him to find some nice girl who loves him back after all these unrequited feelings he's had. I'm surep plenty of girls would be willing to help him forget Makino (and Shizuka)... *g*
The Soujiro/Sara/Yuki stuff was fine for one episode, but I want more Domyouji/Makino action now. And from the previews it looks like I'll get my wish :).
Gah, can't wait for the subbing team to release the hardsubbed version of episode 8!
