Hana Yori Dango 2, episode 6
The series continues to be as awesome as ever, and Makino and Tsukasa were great in this episode. I think I went a bit overboard with the screencaps :).
When Rui arrives at Makino's house, he sees her going into Nishida's car and clearly wonders what's going on.
Aaah, Nishida is telling her about what happened to Domyouji in New York, how some thoughtless words caused the company stock to plummet resulting in massive layoffs. And the guy in his dream was a close friend whose life was destroyed in the process and that he jumped from the roof right in front of Domyouji. No wonder he was having those nightmares...
"It is only when he's with you that the young master seems like he's human." Hee, Nishida is a Tsukasa/Tsukushi shipper, because he likes Makino's influence on Domyouji, how she gentles him and makes him consider other people's feelings.
Then Rui is waiting for her on the street. I love the way he says "Ma-Ki-No". She was so deep in thought that she didn't even notice him before he called her name. She wonders why he's there, and he reminds her that she called him.
Makino is uncomfortable, but doesn't tell Rui what is the matter. She's clearly still thinking of Nishida's words. It's amusing to see how much Oguri Shun has to bend down to see Inoue Mao's face in this scene. He really is tall! Hee, Rui is asking Makino for a drive.
Makino is saying she's sorry, but she's very confused right now. EEE! Then Rui is hugging her from behind and she looks so surprised and uncomfortable there. "Maybe doing this will make you even more confused." Heee! Oh Rui! You are so wonderful!
And then he turns her around and leans into a kiss, but she backs out at the last moment, slightly panicked by the situation. Rui, Rui, Rui! You are going to get your heart broken.
Heh, remembering her conversation with Soujiro in the previous episode, Makino is asking Yuki if he has ever given her a ride on his bike. Yes, this episode is going to have more about Soujiro's past!
LOL, Domyouji looking around the neighborhood for someone to lend him some sugar. That is the lamest excuse I have heard. I love how silly he's being here. And then Susumu, trying to get them together in their room and asking if he can go study for a long time in Domyouji's room. LOL! How transparent! And OMG! He's doing that thump-heart-point-finger thing Domyouji did to him when he was going to give the letter to the girl he fell in love with. *dies*
Then they are together in the room and it's his turn to hug her from behind (Asian dramas seem to have a weird fetish for this, it's always hugging from behind.) He says that he's serious about what he said to her the day before.
Then she asks him to stop, "Where are you touching right now?" And he realizes he has his hand on her breast... ROTLMAO! His expression! *DIES*
Then she throws him and THEY FALL THROUGH THE FLOOR! OMG! This is hilarious! They sure are a destructive pair :D. I love how the old pair in the apartment below is looking at them in shock.
The F3 are in the lounge and Akira and Soujiro are asking Rui if he has talked to Domyouji after the day he declared he was serious about Makino. They are saying that Tsukasa is clearly confused about his feelings, but the rivalry between the two men is causing so much strain on the friendship the F4 have.
Rui is annoyed at their meddling and says he doesn't care if things get worse. But, as he so intelligently points out, the decision isn't up to him and Tsukasa. Makino must make the choice.
Then they ask him about Shizuka. And he realizes he never told the other two that things are over between him and Shizuka.
Then, on the floor below, some girls are gossiping about the way Makino's apartment got destroyed and the guys hear them and are wondering if they heard right.
Hee, Sara is fishing for information about Domyouji's friends from Makino. Yuki is looking apprehensive in the background. She clearly suspects something...
Yay, Tsubaki is back. And she says she brought Tsukasa a gift.
OMG! It's Makino in that box! OMG! HEEE! This series is so utterly cracktastic at times that you can't help but love it :D.

Hee, Tsubaki is telling that Tsukasa called her and asked for help in breaking up his engagement and getting back together with Makino. He's all embarrassed that she's saying all this in front of Makino, but can't deny it being true. I love how Tsubaki takes charge of the situation without either Tsukasa or Tsukushi being able to resist her a bit :).
She's letting Makino stay in the Domyouji residence. She wants to help the two, because she remembers her own past and the current situation is quite reminiscent of what happened to her. She tells Makino how she fell in love with poor guy while in high school, but her mother interfered with them and married her off to another man. She loves her husband now, but can't help wondering what her life would have been like if she had had the courage to leave her family behind, like Shizuka did.
When Domyouji goes to meet Shigeru, she's babbling so enthusiasticly about the impending marriage, and she even has a wedding book with her. Then she blurts out that she's not going to break up with him even if he asks her to. She had clearly guessed what Domyouji was going to say to her when he asked for the meeting.
Hee, there is so clear foreshadowing of things-to-come when both Sara and Soujiro react badly to Valentine's Day, saying they have bad memories of the day...
Hee, love Tsukasa's horrified reaction when Tsubaki tells him that Makino is going to be living in their house now. He really makes the best faces :D. Priceless!
LOL, love how he's jumping on the bed like a big kid when he realizes that Makino really is going to be living in the house *G*. But then Tsubaki is warning him to be careful, because his decision to break it off with Shigeru is going to have huge consequences.
It's funny how just when Makino was thinking she had no money and hadn't had time to make lunch for herself, Akira and Soujiro invite her up to their lounge, saying they'll treat her. But when they ask her where she's staying now that her apartment is destroyed, she stutters that she staying with a friend, reluctant to confess that she's staying at Domyoji's house.
Then she tries to change the subject quickly by telling Soujiro that Yuki is taking tea classes, clearly thinking it will distract them from her. Akira is asking if there are cute girls in the class, and Makino starts telling about the girl Yuki has befriended.
Tsukasa's arrival and the way he acts completely hyperactive and enthusiastic about Makino's presence in the lounge is very amusing. Of course, the others immediately notice that he's behaving extremely weirdly and wonder what's up with him. Heh. "Nothing happened, Makino-kun. It's our little secret." LOL! Which makes the other two immediately pounce on him to find out what the secret is. Then he does tell them that Makino is living at his house now. Love the expressions on their faces when they hear this :D.
Then Rui arrives at the lounge and there is an uncomfortable silence, because the others don't know what to say to Rui about the situation. Akira and Soujiro leave the other two alone, because they need to sort it out between themselves.
In the meantime, Makino has received the results of her law school exam. She passed the exam and is so happy about it that she's screaming out her happiness in the stairwell. Then Rui is calling her and she is still squeeing like mad that she got into law school and he's saying they should celebrate it. Then she hears Domyoji's voice in the background, and it's like a splash of cold water into her face and she hangs up on Rui.
Domyouji tells Rui that Makino moved into his house, but it doesn't get that big a reaction out of Rui. He just keeps stirring his tea. He's so calm when Domyouji asks isn't he jealous, and just coolly answers, "Of course I am." Domyouji's clearly picking for a fight again.
Oh Rui, you are so pretty sitting there, holding that tea cup.
Then Domyouji is telling Rui how his words made him think about things. He tried to forget Makino while he was in New Yorkl, but couldn't really do it. And then he tells Rui that Makino is the most important thing to him and there has to be a way they can be together without hurting other people.
And Rui is still so very pretty, can't help capping a bit more... That orange hair really really suits Oguri Shun!
Rui asks Domyouji if he's asking him to give up Makino. And he does do that. But then Rui wonders who Makino will give chocolates to on Valentine's Day and Domyouji is completely baffled by the turn in the conversation.
Shigeru is starting to really annoy me. She has asked Makino to meet her, so that she can tell ask her if there is something going on between her and Tsukasa. Then she's tries emotional blackmail, asking if she can trust Makino's words when she was congratulating her the night Tsukasa asked her to be his girlfriend. "I can trust you, can't I?" Poor Makino, she's in very uncomfortable situation.
Heh, Akira and Soujiro arrive at the tea school, and Sara is clearly very shocked when she sees Soujiro. She runs away immediately, leaving a baffled Yuki standing there alone. The guys say they are going to join her class. All the ladies there are very amusing with their squealing.
Yuki and Soujiro are so cute together, while Akira is charming all the other ladies in the class :).
Then Soujiro notices the tea set that is on the ground and hears that it belongs to Sara-san. He immediately asks if she means Hinata Sara, and when she answered in the affirmative and asks if he knows her, he denies really knowing her and walks away from the class. Awww, Soujiro's hidden manpain! And Sara watches him leave, hiding in the hallway with tears in her eyes.
The scene made Yuki suspect that Sara was Soujiro's first love, as she tells Makino the next day which is also Valentine's Day.
The hordes of screaming girls are pretty funny. Then Soujiro arrives at the scene on his bike, and Yuki is smiling at him hesitantly, and he smiles back at her. Love the secondary OTP!
Aww, Domyouji looks so happy and cute when Makino arrives at their meeting. He's asking if she has something to give to him, clearly thinking it's going to be chocolates. Then she hands him the case containing the Saturn necklace. Oh no, this is going to be painful!
He's in utter shock at this turn of events. Makino is saying that she's given it a lot of thought, and she guesses he was too late. She says they won't be happy if they end up hurting a lot of other people. GRRR, Shigeru's words clearly got to her.
Poor Domyouji! He's completely reeling and crushed by her words. He started out so joyful, but now it's like everything is crumbling around him. Then he throws the case into the river and starts pounding at the railing and screaming in pain, telling Makino not to play with him.
"This doesn't make me sad at all!" Oh, Domyouji, you are so clearly lying and trying to hold back your tears... He looks so lonely and devastated when he yells that he doesn't want anyone else but Makino.
I just know the rain scene is going to kill me when it comes up, because this already so awfully sad!
Then she's gazing at the case in the river and is remembering the time he gave the necklace to her. And then she rushes to the river and wades in to get the necklace back. BTW, as others have noted already, that river looks an awful lot like the river in Gokusen and probably is the same one.
The next morning, Domyouji is sitting on alone in a room when a maid comes into the room. He's irritated that she's disturbing him, but when he finally turns to look at her... Love the shock on his face :).
OMG! It's Makino in a French maid outfit. This is going to be fun! She's saying she wants to work at the house. Love Domyouji's amazed expression when he hears this :D.
She's telling him that she doesn't feel it's right for her to stay in the house without doing anything, so she wants to work to pay back her debt. And she needs a reason to live there with him. She's giving him hope again, after they way she crushed his heart the previous day.
Then he notices Tama and looks horrified when he asks when she got into the house. Tama tells that Kaede asked her to look after him. She seems like a very scary old lady.
Oooh, the previews, emo Soujiro, Yuki collapsed on the street, Domyouji saying he would give his life for Makino, so on... Sounds great!
