The Snow Queen, episodes 9 & 10

Jan 28, 2007 22:59

After a while, I've finally started rewatching The Snow Queen, and about time, too, since all the episodes are now subbed. Yay!

Episode 9

The shocked look on Tae-Woong's face when he hears that Bo-Ra is Jung-Gyu's younger sister! Hyun Bin really has the most expressive eyes! Aww, he has tears in his eyes when he's looking at the family picture that Bo-Ra's father had out.

It looks like T-W was quite shaken by the news, because he seems to be in his thoughts throughout the day and even almost crashes into another car while he's driving Bo-Ra's father home.

Awww, "Can I just hug you for a minute?" !!! And then running through the streets, tormented by memories of Jung-Gyu's last moments and words :(.

It's interesting how Bo-Ra's father is now allowing her to live her own life and make her own decisions, but sets as the only condition that she not meet with her mother anymore. And not for her sake, but his. He clearly hasn't forgiven his former wife and can't stand the thought that Bo-Ra has any contact with her.

Bo-Ra is worried about T-W since he didn't show up at work, isn't answering his phone and acted weird the previous day. She goes looking for him, and finds him unconscious on the floor of his room. I loved how she took care of him and looked so concerned about his high fever and that he wouldn't wake up. She's so panicked, she can't even dial Geon-Woo's number properly, when she tries to call him for help.

It must be very uncomfortable for Geon-Woo to be asked to help his rival and to hear the panic and concern in Bo-Ra's voice. Even though Bo-Ra herself said she wasn't certain about her feelings for T-W, her actions make it pretty obvious that she cares for him a great deal. She doesn't even notice G-W's arrival when he gets to the gym.

Poor doc, he's hurting so much, since it's so obvious who Bo-Ra cares for. He's almost in tears when he leaves the gym and Bo-Ra stays behind to take care of T-W :(.

Aww, T-W is telling Bo-Ra about the friend he used to have, who died because of him, and how he's been running ever since that friend's death. He didn't even know where he was buried before the previous day. He isn't, of course, telling her that that friend was her brother, even though she says after he decribes his friend that he sounds like her brother.

EEEE! He takes her to meet his mother! Hee, I loved the way his mother kept looking at them and is obviously very curious about who the girl is :). But she looked so shocked when T-W said that that's the girl he likes, but she's Jung-Gyu's younger sister.

He's still running from the past, since he intends to leave Bo-Ra as soon as he finds out that she is J-G's sister. He quits his position as the family chauffeur to get away from Jung-Gyu's family and the painful memories.

Poor doc, he's telling Bo-Ra that they should break up, since he'll only end up hurt if they continue together, since he cares more for her than she cares for him. He's putting on a brave face, but you can see how much he's hurting *sniff*. "You've walked this many steps while you were with me. I never knew we took so many steps together." *getting teary here*

Jung-Gyu's father blames himself for his son's death, as he tells T-W. He says that others might blame his friend, but he knows that J-G died because of him. Hearing him say that he doesn't want to meet J-G's friend, because he would feel guilty whether he was living well or not must sad for T-W. He can't reveal the truth, because it would hurt everybody too much.

After hearing who Bo-Ra is, T-W's mother was clearly worried that he would do another disappearing act, but he assures her that he isn't going to run away again. She asks him not to be in contact with Bo-Ra's family anymore, because knowing about the past would only end up hurting everybody, which is exactly what he's thinking as well.

And to make sure nobody ever learns the truth, he rushes to his old schoolfriend, because he's worried she has told the doc who he really is and that she knows him. But, of course, Geon-Woo and the other doctor see them together and wonder how they know each other.

T-W is asking Ji-Hye to keep his identity secret, because he likes Bo-Ra and want to protect her from finding out the truth. So he's asking Ji-Hye to help him. He's so convinced that Bo-Ra doesn't like him back, and he also says he wouldn't let it happen *sniff*. Aaah, the ANGST!!!

Then his thoughts keep on circling around the thought of what would happen if Bo-Ra liked him, too. Even though he's determined not to let it happen, he can't help wondering about it :(.

Heh, he looks so shocked when he sees Bo-Ra waiting for him at the gym. She wants to know why he quit and tells him that she and G-W broke up. He's so determined to push her away, and then she tells him that she likes him! He doesn't believe her at first, but THE HUG! And she calls him her Kay!!! EEEEEE!!!!

But the previews for the next episode look so incredibly angsty - he's pushing her away even though he's madly in love with her! The writers of this series really know how to bring on the angst! This series is so very good. I love it!

Episode 10

Poor Tae-Woong! He's so dazed and shocked after finding out that Bo-Ra likes him. It's like both his dreams and nightmares are coming true. He likes her, but can't tell it to her, because she can't find out the truth about who he is and what part he played in her brother's death. So sad!

He must have been an axe murderer in his previous life, the way life is treating him in this one :p. Just look at the tortured way he's pounding that punching bag and thinking about Bo-Ra's, her father's and his mothers words about the past :(.

Dammit, he's almost begging Bo-Ra to tell him that she only likes him like a brother and that she doesn't really have feelings for him. He's saying he'll pretend she never said the words, but she repeats that she really likes him. But he tells her that he doesn't believe her. He doesn't want to believe, because it would all be too painful, and just tells her not to come looking for him anymore. *sniff*

Sniff, telling his mother that he knows he shouldn't accept Bo-Ra's feelings, but that he loves her so much. His mother really is great: she tells him that if he loves Bo-Ra so much, he should start a relationship with her. What else can he do? But she also advises him to tell all the truth to her before starting that relationship because he can't hide the truth forever.

Heh, even Seung-Ri is giving her approval to T-W and Bo-Ra, but he tells her that they can't be together, because it would end up hurting Bo-Ra. ARGH!

Aww, T-W's mother is asking the coach for help in keeping an eye on T-W, because she's concerned what he will do in his present state. Jung-Gyu's death made him go a bit mad in the past, so she worries what will happen this time, now that T-W is again in contact with that family :(.

LOL, nobody thinks T-W has any real chance in the boxing championship, but the coach is telling him to join the competition as his finale as a boxer. I just bet he ends up winning the championship or something like that *g*.

ARGH! T-W is telling Bo-Ra that he doesn't like her, that she's only the little girl he met in the past and means nothing more to him. And she asks him why he's suddenly so cold and cruel towards her. *sniff* Poor OTP, this is so painful for both of them :(. Ah, the paaaaiiiin!

OMG! Bo-Ra goes to Tae-Woong's mother and cryingly confesses that she likes T-W and never thought she would like him so much. And then T-W comes to the restaurant and sees them together! Aaaannngggst! T-W's mother tells Bo-Ra that she doesn't want her son to get hurt by the games of a rich girl and is telling her that she must put a stop to her feelings :(.

But seeing how hurt B-R is, T-W can't help going after her even though his mother tries to stop him. Aww, he just follows her and almost reaches out to touch her, but then doesn't.

Heh, the math professor is a riot! He's clearly letting his inner child have free reign.

Ooh boy, shirtless!!! Hyun Bin!!! Nice body! Mmmmm, let me pause for a while....

But Tae-Woong's excessive guilt and determination to push Bo-Ra away is really starting to get to my nerves. Tell her that you like her already! She's almost begging for him to say that her feelings aren't completely one-sided. I want my OTP to be together!

But it's like he's determined to make her hate him. Calling her pathetic! ARGH!!!

I hate the way he keeps punishing himself again and again, and even letting himself be beat up in that boxing match when he sees Bo-Ra in the audience :(. This is so painful! *sniff*
