Supernatural 2.09 "Croatoan"

Hmm, interesting start to the episode, Sammy having another precognitive dream, this time of Dean killing someone in cold blood.

Hmm, so the them of the episode is some Stepford-y pod-people stuff and the threat of a whole town being massacred just like a lost colony called "Croatoan", and a demonic virus is behind all the mayhem. Looks like a virus but leaves traces of sulfur behind :).

Oh God, Sammy's dream seems to be coming true, with the way Dean just locked him outside so that he could kill the guy. But the one variance from the dream is that Dean doesn't actually shoot the guy. Still, the anticipation on whether he would do it or not was pretty intense! Because Dean actually is cold-blooded enough to have done it, and I guess Sam's pleading to wait until they know for sure is the only thing that kept him from killing that guy.

Whoah, the nurse is one of the pod-people and has been waiting for a chance to turn Sam! She bled on him - I can't wait to see how this will turn out!

Hee, Dean really is very protective of Sam and is saying that he will stop anybody from shooting his brother until they know for sure.

Awww, he's actually giving his car to the others so that they can get away with it and the explosives, while he stays behind with Dean, waiting if he'll turn or not. Love this series and all the angstiness in it :).

Poor Dean. He's so tired of the whole demon-hunting thing, living on the road all the time, etc. He's been doing it as long as he can remember and has never had any shots at normal life.

Sam thinks it's because of their dad, but Dean says "It was never about dad" - I think it was always about protecting his little brother.

Heh, so Sammy's blood has no traces of the virus even though he was affected. Back to the old question of why he has those visions. Is he demon spawn or not, because he seems to be immune to the demonic virus...

So, the young guy Dean was stopped from killing was infected after all. And then he's contacting the main demon, telling that the test went as expected, and the Winchester boy was immune as expected. I WANT TO KNOW MORE!

I love it how S2 has been mostly about the main story arc and hasn't really had that many completely unrelated monster-of-the-week episodes. And even in those it has managed to show glimpses of the S2 arc development.

So, their father did tell Dean something about Sam that explains his immunity, but he's not telling it to Sammy. Evil cliffhangery episode endings... Grrr!

This was yet another very cool episode. I'm really loving S2 of this show. Now I must finally get around to acquiring the S1 DVDs...
