Uh oh, somewhere along the line (probably around episode three, which I finished today at work), Gokusen managed to hook me and now I've been marathoning like crazy with it...
I was waiting for this to happen in Gokusen 2 but alas ... They should really do another Gokusen Special again, with Shin, Kuma, Ryo etc. So that both classes get to meet each other and Shin and Yankumi can actually meet as grown ups and equals. Sometimes I thought that Shin was even more mature than Yankumi, because he was so serious. *sigh* It would have been a wonderful OTP.
yeah, i think everyone who's seen both wants a team up special/series.
and...can you imagine both groups reactions to learn shin has beencarrying a torch for yankumi all this time? (from the special, he's not getting over it forquite some time)
I think Kuma knows but yeah a lot of ppl would be surprised. I was like the last five minutes of Gokusen 2 hoping Shin turned up, but no it was *Elvis* LOL It would have been nice to see Shin walking along the beach, meeting Yankumi all grown up. *sigh*
Kuma is the student Yankumi is closest to by far, and with the possible exception of Uchi(I's put them equal, really) the one Shin is closest to, and he also hangs out with the henchmen, who know, so yeah, I'm sure he either figured it out or suspects. Uchi, I suspect, wouldn't be surprised, but everyone else would freak out. Esp. the head teacher(who is so completely her pet by the end of 2...and the actors have a very similar relationship in Trick)
Uchi would be sooo teasing Shin if he knew but I guess he woudl be just as supporting as Kuma (though I can imagine Kumai-kun being the voice of reason and telling Shin he might get hurt because she is after all their sensei) but in the end he would be just rooting for them as Uchi.
Uchi would do the Gokusen "Huh?" *blank/shocked stare* thing then immediately go to teasing...then warning when they were alone...and chedking Shin's forehead to make sure he was still sane.
Oh yes, absolutely. And isn't it scary to know these characters so well after one viewing? Scary as hell. btw, the actors who played Tsuuchi and Takeda are part of the Yankee something or other school drama. They look so damn normal with their normal hair colour, but Tsuuchi is already sooooo tall.
yeah, Gokusen really does get you into the core students heads really well.
I'm watching Ame to Yume right now(it's great) and it has Tsucchi...he did a lot of growing into his frame between it and Gokusen, though. There was this one scene where he pointed to Ame(he's her future otp...the guy seems cursed with "someday, but i'm 17-18 now and she's 14" stories...) and her friends and introduces them as his friends, and the tops of all their heads are at his shoulder.
