Perphaps Love & Oher stuff

It was great fun meeting with Old Schoolfriend yesterday. As usual, we had yet another movie night. This time we watched two films I'd brought with me and one film of hers. My films were Perhaps Love and Bunty aur Babli and hers was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Perhaps Love is an extremely beautifully shot Chinese film by Peter Chan. The story concentrates on the similarities and the differences of the story of relationships in real and reel life between the lead actress (Xun Zhou) and the director (Jacky Cheung) and the lead actor (Takeshi Kaneshiro) of the film.

I can't resist posting some pictures of the film:

And if you are still uncertain after these pictures, just check out dangermousie's Perhaps Love picspam here.

Bunty Aur Babli was as fun as ever and a great mood-breaker after the rather melancholy Perhaps Love. The third film of the night, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was another film with a distinct visual feel to it. It looked amazingly good, and I loved the candy floss imagery of Willy Wonka's factory, but since I've never been a Roald Dahl fan, the story felt just ok.
