Oh no, I just knew this would happen: of course I couldn't resist watching more Silence. I really should have known better, even before watching the first episode...
Still, tonight's SF Mafia reminded me of one thing that I really love about my friends: they never judge you crazy if you get obsessed by (to them) weird things. Every one of us has some experience of this and they understand the nature of obsession, however strange the object of your obsession might look :).
Meaning, I got some well-natured ribbing for my recent dorama addiction, but everyone was willing enough to hear me rhapsodize on the addictiveness of Asian tv-dramas :). People were even more amused when I told them that I had just gotten addicted to yet another dorama and had watched almost an entire episode of it at work today *cough* slow day *cough*...
And I lost even the shreds of my credibility when I confessed that I might have developed a schoolgirl crush on one of the actors, who is not young enough to be my son. However, we all agreed that it's ok to drool after younger guys as long as they aren't too young :).
Episode 2
WeiYi really is evil *g*. When SS is taken to the police station because after she tries to get into WY's car, he comes up with a story about ShenShen being his ex-girlfriend who doesn't want to break up with him and deliberately left her mobile into his car :). It was clearly made up to annoy her and then Zuo Ge goes with the story, too. heehee
I was moaning for more Vic Chou in suits in Mars, but Ling wasn't the type to go into corporate world. But now, with Silence I really got my wish granted. Call me shallow, but *drool*!!! Yup, definitely have a schoolgirl crush on him right now...
WeiYi really should know better than to buy his girlfriend a ring if he doesn't mean anything more by it. But her talk of promises also made him remember the promise he and his childhood friend made, to meet again when they are both adults. Awww, he's still waiting for that phone call and so broken up about the fact that she never called him.
But then the next thing he does is get engaged to his girlfriend. It's very clear that he's doing it just because it's expected of him and not out of any real sentiment for her. She, however, looks very happy about the engagement and clearly is in love with him.
And when it's shown that he's still having doubts about getting married to her the night before the engagement party, he really should back out, but this being a dorama, it's obvious that he'll go through with the engagement, and that it will only cause them both pain in the future.
And then the words: "In my heart, I am still waiting for the answer from that girl 13 years ago." Ohnoz, now I'm hooked. I can see that I'll be spending hours and hours in front of my computer again, obsessing about this series.
Talk about coincidences: of course, both WeiYi and SS meet their old doctor on the same day. She gives him a lift to the old hospital and later WeiYi goes there and hears from the doctor that he had just met WeiYi's childhood girlfriend and that she's in the area. EEE! The way he RUNS(!!) to see her again! *thud* And, of course, he misses her - actually runs right past SS without noticing her.
Later on he ends up chasing the wrong car thinking his friend is in it, and ends up wrecking his car. SS happens to pass by and when she recognizes him, she stops to gloat at him. It really takes a lot out of him to ask her for a lift. He can't even look at her while doing that. Hee, ShenShen is clearly enjoying the situation and the way he had to ask her for help :).
OMG, that long stare and the slight smile when she's cleaning his face when they reach the engagement party *flutter*. She's clearly flustered by his smile, but then shoos him away, because he's already late for the party.
I can see that me or my computer are going to self-combust from the UST in this series...
And then he turns back and almost tells her why he was on that road. I can see I'm also going to be screaming a lot at the screen if there is going to be a lot of this type of thing.
Wow, those goons that stole SS & ZuoJun's spot really are bashing them up and he's curled so protectively around her, because they won't even stop from hitting a woman. He really seems to love her and is very protective of her all the time. Aww, how cute he is when he is asking SS to hug him in order to comfort him, and then he looks so blissful when she does hug him. He's clearly smitten... But then he has to go a bit too far and ask her to kiss him *g*. She smacks him for his presumptuousness, but then kisses his hair. They really look quite cute together, but I'm only waiting for the inevitable heartbreak to happen, since SS & WeiYi are clearly the OTP of this series.
XiaoMing (or Megan Lai's character, whatever her name was) really is very devious when she asks for SS and then tells ZuoJun that she wants to thank her for driving WeiYi to their engagement party. ZuoJun looks quite surprised by this and wonders why she didn't tell him about it.
The scene where SS and ZuoJun were tasting different foods because X criticized their current offerings was really funny with all the faces they were making while tasting the different versions of food :D.
Then SS and WeiYi meet again, this time at a late night shop and she helps him pay for his purchases because he has no cash to pay for them, only credit cards. They seem to be meeting at random moments all the time :).
