Lakshya & Kuyn...! Ho Gaya Na

Yesterday I watched two fairly recent films, Lakshya and KHGN. Both of these films had their moments, and were ok passtime, but nothing great, 6/10 for both.

Lakshya was a war movie, and I don't really like war movies that much, but it had Hrithik and Preity in it, so I was curious to see it. I liked the back story with Hrithik as an aimless youth, but mostly fast-forwarded through the war scenes. Most of the music was ok and Hrithik was as good a dancer as ever. I especially liked the 'what if I said' song. The 'soldiers on the road' song, however, was very silly - the singing army of India, indeed :/.

KHGN was an ok romantic film with the usual twists & mix-ups. Aish and Vivek looked good and were passable in their roles. The plot was full of Bollywood cliches and I was never fooled about the wedding. Suniel Shetty looked very cool in his guest appearance. I loved his entry... Very nice! The Amitabh & the kids storyline was mostly filler IMO, and mostly very forgettable stuff, though I did like the speech Vivek's character made when the couple refused the disabled child.

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music was as good as ever. I just checked, and it seems they made the music for both of these films. Funny, I didn't notice that until I began to think about it, and then just had to check it :). They really seem to be everywhere nowadays, and are really becoming one of the premier song makers for Hindi films with hit after hit.

When I return these films today I hope they've finally got the Dhoom DVD and it's available,! John & Abhi in an action film... Can't wait...
