Pirates of the Caribbean 2
I had the sudden inspiration to go see this today at a matinee showing. I had been reading my e-mails and surfing the net at the local library and just checked what time there were showings of it today. There was one at 4 p.m. and the time was a little under half past three and there was a train going to town at 3.32, so I just decided, what the heck, I'll go see it at the four o'clock showing.
The film was great fun though I didn't like it as much as the first film (I'll have to search for my DVD of it and rewatch it tonight...). Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow was as good as in the first film, Orlando Bloom really does well in these swashbuckler-y roles (as, I think, dangermousie pointed out), and even Keira wasn't too annoying. It was great to see Jack Davenport as well, and I loved his snide comments.
Some of the fights were a bit too long and the barnacle people, plus the squid-faced captain were a bit too much. The skeleton crew in the first film was much more fun.
I can't wait to see PotC3.
