Just finished rewatching the BBC adaptation of North & South. *sigh* What a great adaptation it is! I think most of it was done really well, but I do feel there was no need to include that scene of Mr. Thornton beating up the smoking worker in the first episode ( Read more... )

Oh - envy! I've been trying to keep buying -- well, buying is pretty hopeless! But I haven't yet broken down on the DVD of North and South. Or Temeraire, though both are right at the top of my list. (Actually, think it's time to start 'hinting' to the family re birthday presents!) I'm glad you liked Temeraire as much as expected...

I got Temeraire throught the library, but now I'm thinking that I might order the US paperback editions since they are coming out in a much faster schedule than the UK versions. I loved the first book and I hope the other books in the series stay as good.

Thank you for reminding me. As my library's copy is finally classified - so now I can reserve it! Was the Vantaa copy a trade pb?
