another writing meme (told you, I'm bored)
Another meme: Post the first line of your 15 most recent fics and find a pattern.
Er... these aren't the 15 most recent ones as I have like... a couple of anonymous fics right now. But I guess these will do. Do chapters count? Well... maybe they do... since I guess it's trying to find a pattern on the writing style and not the fics.
1. Bad Movie: Contrary to popular belief, words are a necessity in Tezuka and Fuji's relationship. The words, however, come in trace quantities, so trace in fact that words seem to be neglected.
2. Getting There (I: Discovery): “There really is no need for you to drive, Tezuka,” Fuji said.
3. Getting There (Prologue): Eiji was insistent, or so Fuji told Tezuka when the latter called and asked why Fuji hadn’t gone home yet.
4. In Her Eyes: Akira thinks that her new boss has the emotions of a wooden stick.
5. Injury: Upon hearing the door creak, Fuji shifts on the leather sofa, resting his chin on the edge of the backrest while trying not to put any weight on his left leg.
6. Responsibilities: The Prince of Dmelia tried to concentrate on his breakfast.
7. How Fuji Knows: When Fuji’s father arrives in Japan for vacation, the family plans a visit to relatives in Chiba.
8. Remembrance 7: As captain, your goal was to lead the team to the Nationals.
9. Of Words and Assumptions: The world knew that Tezuka was a man of few words because Tezuka found that words could be tricky.
10. ORHANM 6: In a matter of days, news had spread throughout the entire kingdom and neighboring ones from Ildarium, a small dukedom along Fenestrium’s eastern borders.
11. ORHANM 5: Several pots of cacti - short and tall, plump and thin, bulbous and long - lined the sill of Fuji’s bedroom window.
12. Armor: Tezuka carries his resolve like a knight bears his armor.
13. Remembrance 6: I think when you sleep in bed with another person, when you allow him to see you with your guard down, the two of you are supposed to become a bit closer.
14. Bits and Pieces: Sawada-sensei, our Algebra teacher took a sick leave.
15. Facing the War (neither finished nor posted yet): The war was on.
I fail to find a pattern except that they're all for TezuFuji fics. I guess the first sentences of multichapters have the same tone? All the first sentences do come in all lengths. (LOL at #15)
