WIP list and LJ Spam

Nov 09, 2012 15:11

Is anyone else receiving a ridiculous amount of spam comments on their LJ posts? Although LJ seems to be catching most of them and screening them, it just makes me feel like locking down my LJ.  :/

I know you do what you have to do but...

My entire Noah fon Ronsenburg arc - Noah in Landis, Noah in the Akademy, Noah/Fran during the 690s, Fran's sudden unexpected disappearance (with Ffamran!), Noah climbing the ladder in the 9th, and paraplegic Noah surviving post-game after being dumped by Larsa and Basch into Penelo's care. This entire arc is a giant piece of expy food for my decopunk/dieselpunk ofic universe.

... ;A;

Ysah.

I think I really gotta play DA (which order, folks?) so I can catch up with my flist.

As for LJ spam, it's bad. I think I managed to lock most of it out by requiring CAPTCHA for anonymous posting.

The expected order is: Origins (plus in-game DLCs), Awakening, optional stand-alone DLCs, DA2 (plus in-game DLCs) because that's what the save-game important path wants.

But you could play DA2 first and then play Origins, Awakening, optional DLCs.

DA2 can be completed in half the time of DA:O *and* (imho) DA2 is more interesting on replay whereas DAO feels like the same old game with a different main character so you could do:

DA2 (to learn the universe for fandom reasons), Origins, Awakening, DA2

Actually, I haven't yet cataloged every last bit of my Noah arc because there is so much of it spread over so many different locations (cloud disk services, my old laptop, etc.) and some of it might not make any sense outside of a fandom context. There's a 8500 word draft I wrote last november that I just added to the "inactive" list -- "Oh, It's You."

Not sure when I'll make it post-worthy, but the story is entirely grounded in FFXII's world. As I start cleaning up old fic drafts, I might find other that rely heavily on FFXII events and those will eventually (or not...) get posted.

All of the Noah stories I've permanently pulled into my expy pile are very detached from the FFXII story line because they take place entirely in Landis or Archades and almost all of the characters are original *OR* the characters are giant expansions (backstories) for minor FFXII characters. As much as I like the ideas for FFXII fic, a few years ago I started weaving them into an ofic world.

wow you too! on the SPAMMERS? I just checked my inbox and received loads of them, and conversely they're on inactive lj communities.
I thought it was something like fanfiction.net where weirdos post anonymously saying how they have big crushes on you and gushing ect.
Although I think that's nice and all, it's the way these LJ spammers do it that come off sounding really stalkerish and extremely creepy!
Since i've been inactive on Lj for so long, it's weird to see the spamming is going rampant.

anyway i'm glad you're still around and consistently at FFXII, i'll try to catch up on my reading.
