Struck by how much warmer Exeter is than Sheffield, where I have just been to spend a gruelling day in the exam room. Apparently spring moves at a third of a mile per hour,from south to north, so that would explain it.
Sam Tom Sam has been in the predominantly feline household again for a couple of days, but has now returned to London. It seems travel can still be cheap on the trains if you book ahead and be flexible in your time of travel.
