I guess I'd better explain myself. I'm Doctor V, the default leader of the military of Corinth. This is the last human refuge left on the planet.
Years ago, a computer virus called Venjix gained control of the world's computer systems and turned our defenses against us. Venjix built armies of robotic soldiers and quickly took control of our world. As he began wiping out humanity, we started to build city-scale fortresses to protect ourselves. Corinth is the only one we know of that's survived.
For about two years, we managed to fight Venjix off with the help of the military and an elite team called the Power Rangers. They were our first and best line of defense. But Venjix had secretly implanted humans with his technology, and it slowly grew inside of them until he was able to take control of them. Half of the city was made up of these hybrids, and when they were activated, it was the end game. The highest ranks of the military were wiped out, and when the Rangers tried to bring the fight to Venjix himself, all but one of them fell.
Flynn McAllistair, former Ranger Blue, now heads up the civilian defense forces, while I've taken command over the rest of the military. The Rangers' mentor and developer of their technology, Doctor K, also fell in Venjix's siege, and we've done all we can to reverse engineer her technology and find some way to put it to good use.
But it hasn't been enough, and we got desperate. The military managed to create a teleporter based on the Ranger Green technology, and as a last ditch attempt to find some way to hold off Venjix, I activated it in search of anyone who could help us, be it through fighting or just sharing technology. I've ripped you all from your lives and homes, and for that, I'm truly sorry, but this is our last hope. I know some of you are civilians and many of you have no reason to be here, and for that, I'm deeply sorry for my mistake. We can send you back, but it takes time for the teleporter to recharge and recalibrate; otherwise, we would have used this to escape to a safer world.
If you wish to leave, I understand. I just ask that if there is any way you can contribute to this fight for our survival--medical aid, advice, anything--please help us. It's the only thing we can do.
