To start from the beginning, I'm in Directing the Documentary this quarter. My documentary is about podcasting and I've lined up what I think will be a fairly impressive interview. The hosts of
Skepticality. Swoopy actually replied to my email so I know at the very least I will be interviewing her. Here is the email conversation. I don't think she would mind.
Derek and Swoopy,
Hello, my name is Matt Bailey. I am a student in the Digital Media
Productions program at The Art Institute of Atlanta in Sandy
Springs and I'm doing a short documentary piece on podcasting. I
would like to interview one or the both of you for the piece to
talk about Skepticallity and podcasting in general. How you got
started in podcasting, what you did before, & what you see for the
future of podcasting. As a student of "digital media" I am
particularly interested in podcasting and the opportunities it
presents for my future. It's certainly an exciting time to be
coming up in the media industry. Please let me know when would be
the best time to arrange an interview, if this is indeed a
possibility. Many thanks.

Hi Matt,
It most certainly is a possibility, and probably even more than that. :)
Since you’re doing a documentary, I suspect that this is a video
interview you’re wanting to do? We can either meet somewhere, or
depending on your availability, we could possibly arrange for you to
come to our house (where we do the podcast), which might be good for
you to see, since you’ll get to document our podcasting environment,
what equipment we use and stuff like that.
It IS an exciting time. Especially for those who are doing video.
Podcasting is of course important, but the push toward video and
making it possibly for anyone to do, is one of the coolest things. The
revolution is here, and we’re a part of it. Incredibly cool and exciting.
Let me know how your time looks, and we’ll work something out.
Thanks,
Swoopy

Thank you very much. It is in fact a video interview I am wanting to do.
I think that the best location would be at your house if this isn't too
much trouble. I would have at most a 3 person crew, myself and one or
two others to help with lights and audio. I would certainly like to get
some footage showing the equipment you use--perhaps while it's in use?
Not to push my luck though. :-D
My school schedule looks like this:
Monday 12-2, 6-10
Wednesday 10-4
Friday 2-6
I work every other day but I can take off any day from work to shoot. Of
the days I go to school, the best time for me would be on Friday before
I go to class. Aside from that, Tuesday, Thursday or the weekend would
be good. I would love to make this into a high quality piece I can put
on my reel.
My cell phone number is (706) 537-0634. Feel free to call me if you have
any concerns or questions. If I don't answer just leave a message and I
will return the call as soon as I can. Thanks again. I'll be in contact
soon.

I will be kicking myself in the ass for the rest of my life if I drop the ball on this one so, I have to get back to my preproduction work.
