Readers I've returned for a short time (2 weeks) cuz i need to write a journal of my internship so i figure why not do it in here?
Woke up, went to school for the sr tribute. I ate my last ever MP breakfast (by myself sadly cuz everyone else decided to sleep later haha) then we walked over to teh chapel in our cap n gowns. walked in got our medallions (really sweet) then i got my gold cord for NHS which did make me feel a little proud since i didnt get honors all year but still got to stay in haha. mike gave a nice speech kindly making fun of everyone including me (passing out freshman year haha). left chapel went home took a nap n ate a chicken salad sandwich.
Went into USTC (United Sports Training Center) after getting changed for work appropriate clothing (polo, khakis, sneakers) and met with my contact Greg. My first task was to assist him in bringing up hoagies, salads, and snacks for the board meeting that was taking place upstairs where I saw my old pal Mr. Van Beuren (President of the USTC and the reason I got the internship.) Following that, I learned the rigors of sitting back and enjoying lunch downstairs with Greg and the head foreman who was constructing the miniature golf course. Then it was time for work, Greg set me up with a spreadsheet and outlook to send emails to people who had not paid their tournament balances and I had to figure out which coaches owed for what tournament and how much. Everything went fine until I brought up the repeat coaches when Greg told me he should have warned me about that, so I had to go back and fix some emails and send apologies to those coaches (I was told I handled it perfectly which was a good feeling.) Almost forgot, I met basically every person who works at USTC including the hockey director, Nick, who I had met at IceLine and we talked about hockey for awhile while I worked. It is a great working environment they have at USTC, everyone is polite and helps each other.
Later after I finished my assignment, Greg took me over to the new mini golf course to see the construction, it is going to make so much money from the 250+ team soccer tournament Memorial Day weekend (That I am helping to organize), plus it's a sweet course that I will definetly play at when it's constructed fully. Then we went back to the office, opened up some rooms for later guests, figured out what I would do tomorrow and then I had one last spreadsheet to do. I had to go through their advertisement spreadsheet and delete any companies whose contracts had expired. Then I got to go home after finalizing the rest of the week's schedule.
End Summary Day 1
Sorry if it's dull but it's for school.
Anyways once that ended I took my car to the shop to get the front bumper replaced. Mom drove me home then we had awesome fajitas. Then I went to PowerPlay to assist the one and only dave hendricks with the Downingtown tryouts. I thought I was going to be evaluating, but it turned out I would be assisting Chris Campanale in running the tryout tonite (nice). Me n this kid Gabe basically just set up cones and pucks and ran the scrimmage once he left, Wednesday I get to evaluate up top which should be cool.
Got home, took out the trash, infwerno was great, can't wait for the next one. Then my man DMX was on trippin' sooooo good, he's the most amusing man alive.
O well I'm off to bed prolly, have to b at work by 730 tomorrow.
SO til next time readers
Keep on keepin on...
