I just got a promotion!
I just got a promotion, me, me, ME! I got the team lead spot, they had more than 12 people going for the position and I, Me, Myself, I GOT THE POSITION!

I know this probably sounds really lame but honestly I have been working for this since I found out the position had opened up a month and a half ago and I really didn't think I had any chance of getting it, I've been pulling 10-12 hour days and felt like I was about to burst with anticipation, 12 people showed interest, and then they narrowed it down to 6 which I was one of, 2 weeks ago we were down to 3 so far as I knew, Jim, Bob, and Myself, Bob's been here since February, Jim and I both came in August, clearly I thought the 6 month jump he had on us meant he was going to get it.
Then yesterday Rick, my Assistant Director, told me that we need to meet tomorrow. Me being the worst person int the world when it comes to surprises bothered him for the next 3 hours of work til he told me that we have to wait to talk to Lawrence, the Director of First Year, as well.
I knew something was either very good or very bad.
then Jim calls me to tell me they said he wasn't getting it that it was only because the person who got it had been here longer, I've been here 2 weeks longer but all signs pointed to Bob none the less. Then in our Accountability meeting they announced that Dave, my current team lead, is moving to Continuing Student Advising, meaning there are 2 openings.
Then I met with Lawrence and Rick and they handed me a new contract and a new job description.
