three things

1. seanan_mcguire has a few words to say about how unevenly distributed the future is, in Across the Digital Divide. I'm sure it's been linked far and wide, but I spend a lot of time helping people apply for jobs during the two hours of internet time they get all day, because that's how we ration it at my library, and... yes. That.

2. Got a rejection back from F&SF yesterday, turned story around to Writers of the Future today. Gears keep turning.

3. One of my favorite things about writing is the moment when I figure out the Next Cool Thing in the story. Even if, as is mostly the case with the novel in progress, it's most often a Wonderful Awful thing. (Every time iuliamentis tells me my protagonist is being really creepy I respond with :D, not only in IM but actually making that face in real life. He's a vampire! Creepy is his idiom!)

submission, a novel about a boy and his vampire, rejection, recs, writing
