Aww.... I don't want to go home tomorrow :( I've been out of town for a week now, and it's been a wonderful, but sad, 7 days. Last Wednesday, I helped Dustin and Linnea pack their home up into a 16 foot Pensky truck. We were on the road around 9pm with my mom and Evan following us. We stopped at a hotel around 4am and were back on the road around 11. When we arrived in Charlotte, NC, there was a thunderstorm brewing and it was getting dark. We went out to eat and then crashed, exhausted. Friday morning we moved all their stuff in. We said our sad goodbyes that evening and then I was on a plane to Atlanta by 845pm. From Atlanta, I caught the plane to Newport News, VA, where Lance was waiting for me at 130 in the morning.
We've had a great time together. Saturday we went to Water Country and played on some fun water rides. Sunday was a wonderful day for us at Bucsh Gardens. I loved all the shows we saw. Pet Shenanigans, Emerald Beat, Kenetix, and the endlessly pursued Secrets of Castle O'Sullivan (which, admittedly, was very good :). Apollo's Chariot was a fun ride as was Alpingeist. Lance and I got in a argument with 4 line jumpers! They were some rude ass bitches, I tell you. The worst part about it was that we ratted them out to a ride host AND the supervisor that was standing their, and he did NOTHING about it. Way to go enforcing your policies and signs posted all over that say "Line jumpers will be removed from the park." We saw them again afterwards, and I smiled and waved at the "leader" of the pack and then yelled "ENJOY YOUR LIFE OF CRIME!!" That made me feel better :)
Yesterday, Lance and I spent the day at Virginia Beach. We played in the waves for a while and then bought some beer and drank it on the beach (even though we weren't supposed to..). Then we decided it was time for dinner and grabbed one of those coupon/tourist booklets from a dispenser on the street. We wanted to eat at a Mexican restaurant and began walking toward this one on 31st. Turns out it was way off the beach, west of the main drag. We had already walked over a mile and saw no end in sight. So, we turned around and at a some cozy little irish pub. It was nice.
I don't feel so good today. Neither does Lance. I've picked up a bit of a cold or something. My nose is running and sneezing and my throat is a bit sore. I began feeling it yesterday and it's pretty much the same today. I have to catch a plane at 545am tomorrow morning and am testing for my 6th kyu rank in Aikido tomorrow night. I hope I don't feel worse tomorrow. That would not be good for me....
After test nights, the class goes out for drinks and the testing people are asked to stand up and tell a story, joke, ect.... I have no idea what to say. I can't think of any good, upbeat stories to tell and all my jokes are racial or sexist. Completely tasteless. I hope I can think of something. Most of my stories are remarkable, but none of them are funny. I don't want to shake people up. I just want to be fun.
