I actually had something that resembled an active life this weekend, so I thought I would update.

Friday:
Worked late (annoying), then traveled to lovely Springfield in order to see In the Land of Women, which I give about a B+. Adam Brody is cute, I heart Meg Ryan, and Kristen Stewart is a little too attractive for 17 (eek!).

The plot could have been better developed, but I was happy with it anyway.

Saturday:
Brunch at Atkins with Jessa, then went home to make myself look respectable. Drove up to PVHS where I used to work so I could visit with the aminals and Scott. I also took time to brag a little about my impending vet school attendance. Oops. Then I went to see the Bridge of Flowers and the glacier potholes in Shelburne Falls on a whim. I also bought The Joy Luck Club for $2.50 at a used book store.

Sunday:
Longest day ever. Got to UMass to catch a bus to NYC with my neighbor Cristy at 540am. Got to NYC, toured places in Harlem which mostly pertained to black history. Got a questionable bookmark featuring a novel called "The Lesbian's Wife" while browsing a street vendor (this gift was totally unsolicited). Cristy got a bookmark which featured a story about a man with a 15 inch you-know-what. Do I look gay?!

Then we ate at a 'soul food' restaurant called Amy Ruth's. The food was decent, but the service slow, considering that they were expecting us ahead of time. After that, we went to see The Color Purple on Broadway. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't do the novel justice, but I found it to be quite good and relatively true to the novel, considering it was a musical. And Fantasia (from American Idolatry) was the lead. Oh Oprah.
We didn't get home until 130am, and I was darn tired. I am definitely happy that I was actively living this weekend. Yay!
