Oh, god, I love this. It's - incredibly painful in just the right ways, with such an incredible, almost reckless energy. I love how unusual the song choice is, and how well it fits, as well as how fresh-feeling and uncommonly used a lot of the source clips were.

I think if I picked out the bits I adored I would just be time-stamping the entire vid back at you, but:

Ma, Ma--look what I did, Ma. Look what I did to my hands, I broke 'em.
You gave me the stone, gave me the chisel, didn't say how to hold 'em.

Agh! This is the first vid I've seen to really explore Dean and Mary's relationship to each other, especially the new parallels between them after In The Beginning, and - oh, man, it's crushing. Because Dean's story is very different if everything was accidental and blameless, but after knowing that Mary made a deal herself and to some extent put Sam and Dean down the road they're on - it makes everything painful in entirely new ways. Because Dean and Mary are so alike, and certainly Mary never would have wanted this life for her ( ... )

Wow that's just awesome.
It's cinematic and beautiful and so moving.
And also... yes yes yes. It makes total sense within canon but adds to it as well.
I guess it's a fanon type thing that Dean is like Mary, and Sam like John, but the way you put it shows that Dean's like both of them, and really there's no escaping his destiny, not because it's ordained by heaven but because he's a socialised product of his upbringing. Because he loves his parents and Sam and wants to protect them and there's NO OTHER WAY.
I almost feel weird commenting on this, because you must know how fantastic this is already.
But I really, REALLY love it.

Sitting here biting my nails, wondering wheter or not I should actually attempt at a comment, because this vid is stunning and my words can do it no justice. It's moving, and truly captures Dean and his relationship to his mother and everything he's trying to hold together but can't. Superb editing, and perfect choice of song. Thank you so very, very much for sharing this :)
