One thing I do constantly is go back after I've gotten good at something and re-work old projects to make them better. Haven't done it with vids yet because I'm still such a complete and total newbie, but I've done it for graphics, writing, etc

This is commonly known as remastering. A lot of people do it and from what I've seen the reaction tends to be positive if the new vid is significantly different (and better, of course).

I have re-vidded my own work, mainly because of the fact that I feel my skills have improved since my first vids were created, and/or I have found more clips to better execute the narrative I was trying to show.

I don't see any problem with it. Personally I have kept both versions "out there" because some people may be partial to the original version and it's nice to see how you personally have evolved as an artist.

I think a lot of artists tend to re-visit their own work. Most art is abandoned anyway instead of finished. Look at Monet's Waterlilies, or what Lucas did with the Special Edition Star Wars movies.

I've tried to do it but I can't. Every one of my vids (as wanky as this sounds) was heralded by a particular thought or feeling that is forever attached to that vid. Changing the vid changes the reason I made it and makes all those frustrating hours of learning and trial and error interspersed among those tiny moments of 'oh, thank GOD! I think I've got it, finally'; makes all that redundant, I think. I have older vids that I can't stand to watch because of the incredibly poor technical skill (and some newer ones lol) but I don't have the heart to 're-do' them *shrugs* I'm a sentimental sod lol

I've been looking at one of my more recent ones to remaster, but it would just be upgrading from downloaded source to dvd source (as a fair bit of it was third season BSG stuff) so that I no longer have the sci-fi logo in there.
