I'm putting up non-upgraded Miami Vice, Callan and CMP's Fugitive

Since I'm FINALLY finished with Alias, I wanted to dive back into some old favorites that I can't remake the way I'd like to. So instead of starting on a new fandom, I put up some old videos on the site. I've added NotUpgraded to the end of the names, so they should be easier to deal with. The Miami Vice are mostly Svitek/Zito, though there's a Castillo/Gretsky I love.

If you liked "Alone" for Pros, "All I Know" for Callan is the equivalent in my eyes. The "Song for Adam" video is one of the few times I haven't had to make analogies when using a song to describe a show. The Callan episode is spot on. Those two are absolutely compelling for me. If you're new to vidding and only know this wonderful world of great source material and easy twiddling, these Callan videos are from the days when we worked with video we could barely see, and we got it right by doing it as many times as necessary until it WAS right.

I hadn't put these up before because the digitalizations from my source originals were unstable. Twenty and more years take a toll, especially when they're played so many times for copying and for just plain enjoying. But I'd copied these videos many years ago into a digital recorder, and THOSE copies turned out to be stable enough to use.

Caren Parnes' video of "Every Step You Take" by Police was also in the digital recorder, so that's up, too. Caren has worked on every piece of equipment I've ever had, and came to work with me starting in 1985 when I'd only made 3 or 4 videos. It's got 2 lovely stutter cuts of which I'm very fond.

As always:
